Donald Trump would not be the Republican nominee today without the support of mainstream media. His success is not from personal achievement or impressive oratory, it’s from sensationalism and outrageous rhetoric which found an audience of like minds. As his vile speech became more racist and bigoted, the media offered increased coverage of his rallies and press conferences. He received five-times more attention than all other candidates combined. While Hillary Clinton was speaking about issues, the media chose to present Trump’s intentions to build a wall and ban all Muslims from our nation.
Journalism is virtually non-existent in America. The success of the Republican Party’s propaganda machine, FOX Noise, influenced once informative news networks to imitate its tactics by extending “news broadcasts” which allowed them to offer opinions and innuendo literally ‘telling’ viewers what to think. No longer are Americans given the facts and allowed to decide for themselves what is truth or fiction, right or wrong.
Our “news networks” have become similar to those in communist countries where personalities have replaced great journalists of the past. They report only stories which support the establishment. The ‘fourth estate’ is virtually non-existent.
Donald Trump’s antics increases viewership, and sells advertising. This is irresponsible journalism. If the media had not allowed Trump to spew his anger and hatred, Republicans might have offered the American people a candidate of substance.
I often write about criminal action by individuals and corporations which never appear on mainstream media. Sadly, I do not have millions of viewers; the truth is never glamorous or sensational. I continue to hope that the American people will regain their intellect and seek the truth from those who offer it while ignoring television personalities who have no concern for what they report to their audiences.
As I always say, ‘follow the money.’ While television personalities fail to support the nation and the American people by reporting the truth, and make millions of dollars each year, individuals such as myself offer the truth while living just above the poverty level.
Trump is a member of the one-percent. If his supporters truly believe that he is qualified to lead our nation and the world, I fear for the future of my America.
The truth is that I would have been extremely pleased if Bernie Sanders had become our president. He has constantly been truthful and supports my personal beliefs. That said, I am not ‘accepting’ Hillary Clinton; her position on the issues is similar to those of Senator Sanders. Their contest was beneficial for American voters and revealed ideas which would benefit the majority of our nation’s people.
Trump represents the worst of America. Thanks to the media he has become the face of the Republican Party. The once Grand Old Party is now a bad joke played upon our nation and the world. The party must be completely rebuilt, beginning with leadership which refuses to bow to the extremists who have forced the party to move so far to the right that it is dysfunctional.
Throughout our nation’s history centrists have produced legislation which benefited the majority of the American people. Throughout the past two decades both parties have moved to the right. Unfortunately, the GOP has become reactionary and destroyed our Democratic Republic.
The result of the Republican Party’s demise is the success of Donald Trump, with the assist of ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, MSNBC, CNN, and every other major network.
