Thursday night a group of RNC members renewed their efforts to forbid Donald Trump from receiving the Republican presidential nomination at the convention next month. Chairman Reince Priebus is not happy.
Kendal Unruh is a delegate from Colorado, and plans to use the “conscience” clause in convention by-laws to derail the failed businessman. He has contacted dozens of other delegates, asking them to follow his example and vote for another Republican in Cleveland.
“This is a coalition of Kasich, Cruz and Rubio (supporters) and we are all agreeing on one goal, which is: Anybody but Trump,” Unruh said Friday.
A larger group attempted to stop Trump during the primaries, but most of them have become hypocrites and now support him.
The real question is; could this group possibly be successful? Of course the possibility does exist, but it is highly unlikely. What will now surely happen is that the ‘fireworks’ inside the arena may nearly match what will occur outside. Several anti-Trump groups have already applied for permits to protest.
So, how does Trump feel about this situation; the same way he reacts to all challenges, with braggadocio and lies.
“I have tremendous support and get the biggest crowds by far and any such move would not only be totally illegal but also a rebuke of the millions of people who feel so strongly about what I am saying,” Trump said in a statement. “People that I defeated soundly in the primaries will do anything to get a second shot — but there is no mechanism for it to happen.”
The truth is that Trump’s support from the Republican establishment is in decline. His racist and bigoted statements during the last two weeks have forced many to denounce their party’s leader.
His only true supporters have like-minds; they are obviously racist, and bigoted, and suffer from Islamophobia. Trump’s followers are what prevents America from becoming a great nation.
Finally, we all know Trump’s weak temperament; he cannot handle criticism, is quick to anger, incites violence and is vindictive. The attached “Onion” article is not true; or is it? It is a satire, but when you think about it, it becomes a frightening possibility.
