I may be misguided, but I believe that only those who believe in the majority of the American people, and shun special interests, should be the President of the United States. That individual must be someone who denounces racism and bigotry, and offers solutions for our nation’s problems, not euphemisms. He or she must have a record of supporting those who elected them with vigor and purpose.
Therefore, I have a dream; I beg Hillary Clinton to select Elizabeth Warren as her running mate.
Hillary Clinton has one problem; she is too experienced. When your life has been devoted to efforts focused on the American people, you will have made mistakes. If you are serious, you may appear unlikable. The media and your opposition will attempt to diminish your accomplishments and label your failures with greater importance. But the fact remains; Ms. Clinton is the most qualified candidate in modern history, and she will work for the majority of the American people to improve our quality of life.
During the campaign season, Ms. Clinton was challenged by Independent Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders. He has never been wrong about the necessary changes to our government and our political system. He is an admirable man who has always fought for the working class and his convictions.
Elizabeth Warren is Senator Sanders’ twin in the Senate. She has never faltered from her support of the majority of Americans as she challenged Wall Street and special interests. The fact that Ms. Clinton is vetting her for her running mate excites me. She would be the perfect companion for our next president. Together they would be the strongest team to ever seek the leadership of our nation.
Some detractors of an “all-female” ticket would like us to believe that it is impossible for two women to win a general election. This is pure propaganda. I believe that in 2016 voters will cast their ballots for the best candidates; candidates who will serve them in Washington.
Donald Trump is proof that the Republican Party is over. Extremists in its midst have destroyed the principles of the GOP. A Clinton/Warren ticket would offer the American people fierce advocates for the restoration of our nation as a candidate for greatness.
This election is likely my last opportunity to see a great hope for my country. The voters have a choice; and I pray that that choice includes Senator Warren.
