Media’s Polls do not Reflect the Truth

Ignorance breed ignorance

In the early days of television networks were required by law to offer one-half hour of news each weekday. Advertisers refused to pay for that time slot, and therefore the network lost money. What those half-hours gave us were great newsmen who reported the facts; offering no opinions or comments.

Gone are Cronkite, Murrow, Huntley, and Brinkley. Today we are offered Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity among others who are entertainers, not journalists.

Today’s “news” shows are opinionated, misleading, and refuse to report stories which might be ‘offensive’ to certain political groups, or our government in general. They are the most profitable broadcasts on television, and a loss for the American people.

The purpose of FOX Noise and others is to tell you what to think by allowing “experts” to offer opinions and influence the facts of a story.

When you hear poll numbers, ignore them. Most of the organizations conducting these polls are selective, and do not indicate the facts. In truth, any poll taken prior to the conventions is flawed.

On Friday Donald Trump stood before supporters supposedly holding a poll from Thursday. He claimed that it indicated a lead over Hillary Clinton. He was lying. The poll actually showed him losing by two points. He cannot tell the truth; he lost that capability decades ago.

As with most, there was a problem with this poll. Three-quarters of those surveyed were white and labeled themselves either conservatives or moderates. Only ten percent were Hispanic; most likely because a recent ABC News/Washington Post poll revealed an 89 percent disapproval rating by all Hispanics.

The media is enjoying increased profits from a Trump candidacy. They have covered him five-times more often than all other candidates combined for a single reason; advertising.

Before the primaries, I found a site which averages all available polls; legitimate and biased. It is called “Real Clear Politics.” With few exceptions its results were close to the final outcome.

Always remember; the media is biased. Whichever stories will sell the most advertising will also receive the most air time.

Hillary Clinton is intelligent, well-spoken, and speaks about the issues important to the American people. She is not ‘putting on a show,’ or attacking selected groups; she is boring, but boring because she is serious about solving the many problems facing the American people.

Trump is a buffoon. He has no ideas, and uses a single tactic to incite his crowds to emotional outrage, and even violence. He does not possess a single quality which makes him qualified to lead our nation.

Millennials are my favorite voting bloc. They shun mainstream media, and make up their own minds about the candidates and the issues.

Now if we could only get them to vote. They do not know how fortunate they are; they can vote at 18 years of age. I had to wait until I was 21.
