For nearly eight years Republicans have been attempting to discredit Hillary Clinton. Each time they failed. The stories about her e-mails have become boring, and desperate members of the GOP have finally completed a two-year long, and very costly investigation into the tragedy in Benghazi which occurred on September 11, 2012. It was obvious from the beginning that the only reason for Republicans to continue investigating the event was to discredit Ms. Clinton; of course they denied it.
Trey Gowdy is a Republican Representative from South Carolina. Although nothing of importance was discovered in the two-year study, he defended what has become an entire waste of time and money, the only thing Republicans are good at.
“My job is to report facts,” Gowdy told reporters. “You can draw whatever conclusions you want to draw.” Really?
Although Republicans believe that the American people are stupid, it has been obvious for nearly eight years that they feared a Clinton candidacy. What they didn’t count on was her opponent, and that he would work hard at losing his own campaign.
Republicans are losers. The day after President Obama’s first inauguration, they have attempted to discredit him. They have also taken direct aim at Ms. Clinton, knowing that she would attempt to replace the President in 2017. They wasted nearly eight years in constant attempts to obstruct every effort put forward by Mr. Obama and his administration.
Instead of planning an attempt to regain the presidency by proving to the American people that they were the party of accomplishment, they did nothing with the exception of saying “no.” They allowed a small group of extremists to control the direction of the GOP, and that direction proved to be backwards.
Donald Trump, or “Trumpenstein,” is the creation of Republican leadership, or lack of. In the battle with Hillary Clinton for the White House, Trump is unarmed. His only hope is to discredit the former Secretary of State. She is the most qualified candidate ever offered to the American people; Trump is the most unqualified candidate in American history.
The media continues to claim that Ms. Clinton is “unlikeable.” When did personality become a qualification to become the President of the United States? The American people are fully aware that knowledge and experience are the two factors our 45th president must possess. When they go to the polls on November 8th, they will make the right decision for their future and the future of our nation.
If my dream comes true, and Elizabeth Warren is selected as Ms. Clinton’s running mate, the Republican Party may as well fold up their tents and go home until the 2020 election season.
Trump is a weak candidate with a questionable temperament. In an ordinary election his choice for vice-president would be crucial. The Republican establishment has mentioned several possibilities, but each has bluntly responded by stating that they would not accept the nomination.
I know several who would be delighted to stand beside Trump at the convention next month; Ann Coulter, Chris Christie, Joni Ernst, Newt Gingrich, and, of course, Sarah Palin. A sad choice for the party and a sadder choice for the American people. Each of these individuals is nearly as despicable as Trump himself. Losers, every one.
