Trump announced that he was going to make a huge speech about the economy on Tuesday. Well, he made a speech. What he did was the usual; he criticized every current initiative, and offered nothing of his own. He claimed that he would rescind all present trade agreements. But, as usual, he didn’t get it quite right.
“I am going to withdraw the United Straights from the Trans-Pacific Partnership,” Trump said. He claims that it gives China an unfair advantage. The problem here is that China is not part of the TPP.
Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, strongly supports TPP. Trump continues to widen the divide within the Republican Party.
Trump has no ideas, and no understanding pertaining to the global economy. He continues to attack everything, while claiming that he can fix everything but never says how.
“Our politicians have aggressively pursued a policy of globalization — moving our jobs, our wealth and our factories to Mexico and overseas,” he said, reading from prepared remarks and using teleprompters. “Globalization has made the financial elite who donate to politicians very, very wealthy. I used to be one of them. Hate to say it, but I used to be one of them.”
Trump remains a member of the one-percent; and how has he changed? When the housing market crashed in 2008, he was nearly giddy. He openly stated that he could by real estate ‘on the cheap,’ and sell it later at a huge profit.
He lambasted a Clinton presidency making unsubstantiated claims.
“The inner cities will remain poor. the factories will remain closed,” Trump said.
The Chamber of Commerce, a group which normally support Republican candidates, warned the American people about Trump’s unrealistic “vision.”
“Under Trump’s trade plans, we would see higher prices, fewer jobs, and a weaker economy,” the group tweeted, linking to a lengthier article warning that a recession would hit the U.S. “within the first year” of a Trump presidency.
Naturally, I am not surprised. Trump is not only a despicable human being, he is a dangerous man whose ambitions would destroy our nation by alienating our allies and appeasing our enemies. Without any experience in government and a complete lack of knowledge, he would quickly replace George W. Bush as our nation’s worst president.
What are his supporters thinking? The truth is that they are not. They thrive on his racist and bigoted rhetoric. They approve of his anger, the result of fear tactics, and cheer as he incites violence during his rallies.
Okay America; Trump has had his ‘moment in the sun.’ It’s time to rid our nation of the bad joke which has been played on our country for more than a year. He’s not funny any longer.
This is real. We need experience and knowledge in our 45th president. If we fail to move forward, we will die in the past. This year it has been proven that only Democrats will return our nation to a Democracy and guarantee Constitutional protection for all Americans. Sadly, the real Republican Party is now extinct.
