Longtime Republican pundit, George Will claims that he left the party because of Donald Trump. Mr. Will is in denial. He is one of the primary reasons “Trumpenstein” exists. His continual use of fear and anger, combined with huge fabrications of the truth, have inspired voters to reject the leadership of the Republican Party.
Will called Mr. Obama’s presidency a “failure,” when the truth is that our broken government has been caused by Republicans who kept their promise of ‘doing nothing.’ Blaming Trump is another lie. Will and his cronies believe that the voting public is ignorant, and only they know what is good for America; to make themselves more wealthy and more powerful.
George W. Bush’s failed economic policies, combined with the expense of two unwinnable wars forced a near depression. After President Obama was elected in November of 2008, Mitch McConnell openly declared that his constituents in the senate would do nothing with the exception of guaranteeing that the President served only one term. It was blatant racism and nothing less.
Enter the TEA Party in 2010. This group of extremists immediately began efforts to move our nation backwards and destroy accomplishments made for the majority over the last 60 years. They moved our government so far to the right it was completely dysfunctional. All democracy was removed from Congress as the Republican Party refused to work with the President and Democrats to reverse the recession, and bring our soldiers home.
Somehow Mr. Obama’s efforts moved us out of the great recession and our nation is now moving forward. Our military is coming home, and although Republicans such as Mr. Will claim that removing our finest from Iraq created ISIS, the GOP is in once again in denial.
Invading Iraq was the only reason for the existence of ISIS. Saddam Hussein was a horrible despot, but he was the stabilizing force in the region. Bush’s administration removed Sunnis from power and placed Shiites in their place. A civil war began almost immediately. ISIS had an opportunity to join with Sunnis, and under the false pretense of religion, accessed cities in the north with ease. No more denial Mr. Will and your failed cronies; Republicans are the source of serious problems now challenging our nation and its 45th president.
Like other Republicans, Will blames Trump for everything bad about his party. The truth is that he helped to build “Trumpenstein” over the last seven-plus years.
No one can deny the evil that is Donald Trump. But the truth is that he represents all Republicans. He is openly racist and bigoted, with no realistic ideas to cure our nation’s ills. He is just another failed Republican.
Will and others cheered loudly when Trump spoke at CPAC and other extremist groups dedicated to winning elections for Republicans. Sometimes when you get what you want, you lose your principles and your respect.
Today the man you once loved is hated. Republicans cannot blame Trump for being Trump; he hasn’t changed, he is only the creation of failed Republicans who used fear and attacks in desperate attempts to win elections.
Mr. Will, you are simply another hypocrite who refuses to have ideas instead of angry attacks as your weapon against progressives. Embrace your creation; he’s all you have.
