Rumors are flying that Donald Trump has placed Newt Gingrich at the top of his list for a running mate. If my heart beat will slow, I will tell you why I am so happy, that I’m nearly giddy.
Anyone with half-a-brain knows that Trump is the worst presidential candidate in history. If he chooses the man who would be the second worst, my dream will come true. Two of the most despicable and least respected men in our nation will be battling my true ‘dream team,’ Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren. Two un-Americans with questionable intelligence, vs two strong and brilliant patriots. Their loyalty is to the American people, not big business.
Trump’s choices are limited; many Republicans have stated that if asked, they would not be the party’s vice-presidential candidate. Both Chris Christie and Gingrich are frothing at the mouth, and are waiting for the invitation. Sarah Palin will be very disappointed if she is not the chosen one, but maybe Trump is smarter than I thought.
A running mate is historically someone who can boost the campaign of the party’s nominee, not someone who, by their history, is nearly as vile as the candidate himself. Accused of 26 ethics violations while the Speaker of the House during Bill Clinton’s administration, and convicted of one, Gingrich was forced to resign in disgrace.
The reason I am excited is a release from Trump’s organization.
“Donald Trump’s campaign has begun formally vetting possible running mates, with former House speaker Newt Gingrich emerging as the leading candidate, followed by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie. … Gingrich and Christie have been asked to submit documents and are being cast as favorites for the post inside the campaign.”
Others reported in the top five are all known to the American people. They share Trump’s racist and bigoted views and would also fit nicely with the failed businessman. They are Mike Pence, the religious extremist and Governor of Indiana; Mary Fallin, Governor of Oklahoma, who under pressure of possible litigation, was forced to veto a bill which would have jailed abortion providers, although she supported the lack of principles behind the legislation; and finally Jeff Sessions, the senator from Alabama who has voiced his support of Trump’s plan to deport nearly 12 million undocumented workers.
What a fine list of four men and one woman who do not believe in the nation founded by great men such as Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, Madison, and Adams. They share none of the principles and ideals upon which our forefathers created a nation based on individual freedom, and guaranteed those freedoms with the Constitution. These ‘faux-Christians’ believe in a new America where white Christians rule the nation, and the remainder become virtual slaves. Their hatred and judgmental attitude deny them the right to call themselves “Christians.”
Whoever Trump chooses, I hope they know that he has the first and last word about everything, and they will be allowed very few words in between. He considers himself the smartest man in the world; no one knows anything about anything with the exception of Trump.
The GOP has become a circus with the only act departing from the clown car.
