Trump Attacks Fellow Republicans on Trade Agreements

Buffoon

First of all, I must tell you that I was, and remain opposed to most trade agreements with other nations. The outsourcing of some of our best factory jobs for the singular purpose of increased profits has removed good-paying jobs from millions of Americans who lack sufficient education in the 21st century.  However, once completed, they cannot be easily revoked. Mistakes from past, foolhardy ideas cannot be reversed with a few words or an executive order.

Donald Trump’s party supports free trade. Recently he was denounced by the Chamber of Commerce who claimed that his economic policies would increase unemployment, and result in a deficit increase of dramatic proportions. Trump has counterattacked the Chamber of Commerce and other Republican critics of his unrealistic proposals.

This is of no concern to Trump; no one knows more about anything than the failed businessman.

“I’m messing with bad deals that we could make good,” Trump said in his speech at a shuttered manufacturing plant in Manchester, N.H. “I could make good deals. Why would somebody fight that? I mean, the U.S. Chamber fights. They said, ‘Oh, Trump wants to stop free trade.’ I don’t want to stop free trade. I love free trade, but I want to make great deals.”

Once again the billionaire has nothing to offer involving the details of his proposals which are nothing but fantasy. He continues to alienate those who traditionally would offer both financial and political support.

“While we never endorse in the presidential race, we do plan to be aggressive in presidential policy with both major party nominees,” said Scott Reed, the senior political strategist at the Chamber of Commerce. The group repudiated Trump in real time on Tuesday in a series of tweets as he delivered an address threatening to tear up trade accords and impose tariffs.

The question remains if this group, which is historically supportive of Republican candidates, will endorse Hillary Clinton’s economic policies.

“Donald Trump is running as an anti-Republican Republican in many ways,” said David French, senior vice president of government relations at the National Retail Federation.

Trump has also caused fear in Wall Street. If there is one issue which affects the financial capital of our nation it is a lack of uncertainty for the future of financial institutions.

The one question that supersedes all others is that if nearly every institution which is involved with the future of our nation and its economic welfare repudiates Trump, why isn’t the media reporting these facts? This is the true shame of America.

The ‘fourth estate’ has become more concerned with ratings than the truth. Other than “reality shows,” which are actually scripted and intended to play on the weakness of emotions, “news” broadcasts are the most profitable of all television broadcasts.

In the beginning, government required networks to broadcast one-half hour of news each evening. The time slot was either unprofitable, or actually lost money. Today we have 24-hour news networks which offer little substance but attempt to influence the public with opinions and innuendos, while they are concerned with profit more than the truth.

Trump is the first presidential candidate in history to be wrong about everything, and wrong for the future of the United States. If the media continues to support him and he wins in November, they will become the cause of the destruction of a once respected nation with the potential to become great.
