Denial by Republican Leaders Will Destroy the GOP

New Republican Logo

Although you will never hear the truth from Republican leadership, Donald Trump is hated by most of the party. Their worst nightmare has become a reality. They are not less culpable than his supporters for his rise as the leader of the party or Trump himself, they are the major reason why he has succeeded. Whether or not they admit to the facts, they must somehow salvage their beloved GOP.

Republicans must find a way to secure their belief in guns, climate change, abortion, immigration, Planned Parenthood, the Iran nuclear deal, the minimum wage, repealing the estate tax, union busting, privatizing education, cutting Social Security and Medicare and on and on. No one knows where Trump stands on most of these misguided beliefs and his blatant denial of the facts.

If they continue to capitulate and claim that they support the worst candidate in history, they will destroy the party, and find themselves lost in political purgatory.

Republican politicians now holding office have embarrassed themselves over and over again. Darrell Issa and Trey Gowdy lost all credibility for their waste of time and money attempting to disgrace Secretary Clinton with costly and time-consuming investigations of the tragedy in Benghazi, instead of working for the American people. They refused to seek accomplishment and replaced it with desperate attempts to derail the most qualified candidate in history her opportunity to live in the White House; again.

The only way for the Republican Party to regain the respect of the American people is to deny Trump their support. Contrary to such “mental giants” as Mitch McConnell, Reince Priebus, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and Sarah Palin, the American people are not ‘stupid.’ We know who Trump is, and if the GOP supports him, they will lose all credibility.

Our president must be an American, and Trump does not meet that standard. He denounces everything upon which our nation was founded. He does not believe in democracy; he is openly a fascist.

If the Republican establishment fails to realize that this election is lost, and move forward, a return of the once Grand Old Party is impossible.

America continues to need Teddy Roosevelts, Dwight Eisenhowers, Ronald Reagans, (his first term), George H. W. Bushes, and even the Barry Goldwaters. We need ideas from Republicans who were true patriots and believed in service to the American people. We do not need the Ted Cruzes, or the Mike Huckabees, Newt Gingriches, and the Dick Cheneys.

The leaders of the Republican Party must admit the fact that Donald Trump is a danger to the Republican Party, the United States of America, and to the world. The leader of the free world cannot be ignorant, uninformed, or racist.

“The truth will set you free.” Aligning yourself with a megalomaniac will only further the disgust presently aimed at your party.

2020 is only four years away; 2016 is a lost cause.
