There will be many things to watch at the Republican convention, which begins on July 18th. Outside of Quicken Loans Arena protestors will number in the thousands. Voters have multiple reasons to denounce the Republican Party, and adding Trump to the equation will insert additional anger to the throngs outside. Trump’s lack of ability to campaign has alienated most demographics instead of courting them. The controversial businessman will fail to have any support from minorities, women, millennials, and more than 65 million people like myself who choose not to join a religion, but believe in everyone’s right to worship as they choose.
Inside of the Arena, conventioneers will experience a similar raucous and unpredictable situation. An increasing number of courageous and patriotic Republicans are refusing to support the presumptive nominee. Their reasons are valid; they cite the fact that their party and our nation cannot be represented by a man who lacks character, morality, and refuses to support the Constitution.
Clashes between Trump detractors and Trump supporters will be frequent and boisterous. If anti-Trump groups are successful, and he fails to win on the first vote, two things are likely to happen.
The noise level in the arena will rise as Trump’s supporters display their anger. Trump’s detractors will be cheering wildly for their victory.
Secondly, Trump, himself, will once again display his weak temperament. Because he is quick to anger, he will reveal a lack of personal control which is necessary to become the President of the United States.
Trump cannot truly be proud of his supporters. Both the disgraced former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, and the Governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie, are desperate to receive the vice-presidential nomination. Of course the world’s greatest ‘airhead’ will be there, saying something no one will be able to decipher; Sarah Palin.
“That gang, they call themselves Never hashtag, whatever: I just call ’em Republicans Against Trump, or RAT for short,” Palin told the Western Conservative Summit in Denver, serving as warmup act when Trump was an hour late.
“They want to take their (Denver) Nuggets ball and stay home instead of voting, because their guy didn’t win this time around. I shouldn’t call them thumb suckers. They’re not all bad. I’m kidding. They are.”
All the words to describe the rantings of “Caribou Barbie” have been used, and, while none of them are flattering, they are all accurate. She has no reason to be involved in American politics. She proved that she knows nothing about our government or the Constitution eight years ago. She should go home and shoot innocent animals from her helicopter.
Who else would Palin have supported? None of the other candidates had any respect for her. Only Donald Trump, who is as ridiculous as she, understands her and would value her endorsement. They even speak the same language; one which intelligent Americans cannot comprehend.
If Trump is not fired at the convention, he will be removed by the American people in November. And only then will the Republican Party begin to rebuild, and hopefully become a contributing factor in our nation’s government once again.
