The media may tiptoe around the truth and remain ‘politically correct;’ I will not. As more and more Republicans condemn Donald Trump and the support of Reince Priebus for his candidate, I believe that it is time to be bluntly honest about how Trump has captured the leadership of the Republican Party.
Although he lacks support from nearly every demographic, he is the presumptive nominee of the GOP. How he got there is an abomination. I want to tell his supporters that the ‘joke is over,’ it’s not funny any longer. He is an embarrassment for the Republican Party and the United States of America.
Trump has not campaigned on issues; his only tactic is to spread fear, anger, and hatred. He appeals to those who are like-minded; in other words, he has adopted the beliefs of “skinheads.”
Unless you are brain-dead you must know that Trump will not act to adopt positive changes for America. His slogan “Make America Great Again” is wrong in so many ways.
All nations are only as ‘great’ as their people, and Trump’s “people” are far from great. His supporters are racist, bigoted, and Islamophobic. He has the support of the Ku Klux Klan and other white supremacist groups. True Americans do not hate others for the color of their skin or national origin. True Americans support the first amendment, and respect the rights of all men and women to practice the religion of their choice. True Americans are not brainwashed by fear tactics. True Americans do not condone violence.
If Trump had better verbal skills, and you closed your eyes while he was speaking, you would swear the David Duke was spewing his hatred to those who choose to listen. Just in case you don’t remember Duke, he is a white nationalist, anti-Semitic conspiracy theorist, Holocaust denier, politician, and former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan.
I don’t believe that anyone who reads my writing denies the danger Trump poses to our nation. The truth is, he is not a believer in the principles of America. His denial of the Constitutional rights of all Americans prevents him from being our president. His only followers are white, upper middle class men and women who seek the expulsion of blacks, Hispanics, and Muslims from our nation. They reject diversity, which is truly our country’s greatest asset.
I do not want to live in a nation ruled by anger and hatred. Trump’s weak temperament proves that he has insufficient intelligence to work with both our allies and our enemies. The few specifics he has released about his tax plan would place additional burdens on the working class, benefit the one-percent, and add trillions of dollars to the national deficit.
Donald Trump believes in fascism. This is the way he runs his businesses, and the way he has run his campaign. He would not be an “American” president. He does not represent my beliefs, or those of my friends and family.
Republican efforts to smear Hillary Clinton have detracted voters from listening to her ideas and proposals. The media must be blamed for this truth; they cherish the ratings Donald Trump inspires, even if he is wrong about everything, and a despicable human being. Clinton will be a great president, and Republicans are fearful of her strength and experience. She will support all Americans, not just a few.
