Donald Trump has no chance to win the presidency based on a discussion of the issues; he has no position on anything with the exception of destroying previous progress. His one chance is to continue the efforts of the Republican Party for the last seven years, and attempt to discredit Hillary Clinton. When that fails, and it will, the contest is virtually over.
Another blatant lie by Trump claims that he has ‘inside knowledge’ regarding the FBI investigation of Clinton’s e-mails. I call ‘bullshit.’ He says that she will not be charged, but not because she is innocent, because it’s an ‘inside job.’ The truth is he is confident that no criminal action was involved.
“Twitter Trump” couldn’t resist another feeble attack.
“Like I said, the system is totally rigged!” he said on Twitter.
If it was rigged, he would not be the presumptive candidate of the Republican Party today.
If I was a reporter, and could ask Trump his position on the issues, he would avoid the question. He would say: “We’re going to make it better; we’re going to make it great;” or “it will be huge.” Nobody knows what he thinks about income inequality. The only thing he has said about immigration reform, is an impossibility; he falsely claims that he will deport nearly 12 million people. He says that he will repeal The Affordable Care Act, and replace it; but replace it with what? He has never mentioned anything about increasing college enrollment by making it affordable for everyone. What will he do about necessary tax and judicial reforms? No one knows because he doesn’t know.
Presidential Debates are not a certainty. If Trump agrees to a debate, it will truly be “David and Goliath,” with the exception that this “David” is Donald Trump, and he will be crushed without mercy by the heavily armed and much more intelligent Hillary Clinton; no tale of fantasy here.
Trump continues to defeat himself. His responses to tragedies around the world are moronic, and his attacks against Clinton’s position are without an iota of merit. His original campaign staff is nearly non-existent, but that is of no concern to Trump; he listens to no one but himself.
Trump is also experiencing increased opposition from his own party. Hundreds of delegates are searching for a legal way in which the can vote for anyone else. Well-known Republicans, including the Bush family, Mitt Romney, and John McCain will not be attending Trump’s convention. A group of well-educated and influential Republican women have organized to support Hillary Clinton and insure a defeat for Trump.
It is easy to understand why Trump is so desperate. I can think of only two things which could make his chances even more difficult; choosing Sarah Palin or Newt Gingrich as his running mate. Rumor has it the Gingrich is the leading candidate. This would be a ‘pair made in hell;’ both men are morally bankrupt and lack even a morsel of ethics.
