I live in the Reno area of Northern Nevada. Two ads by Republican supporters on television are so offensive, that I find them revolting and the desperation revealed by them is totally disgusting.
One ad has been paid for by the NRA and is as fallacious as the gun lobby itself. The other is in support of Joe Heck, who is the Republican candidate attempting to replace Harry Reid.
The NRA is exploiting a man who claims that he was in Benghazi when the American embassy was attacked on September 11, 2012, killing four, including the Ambassador himself, J Christopher Stevens. Its purpose is to place the blame on former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton. Multiple investigations by Republicans desperate to defeat Ms. Clinton for the presidency in November recently concluded with no evidence that she had any culpability for the four lives lost in the tragedy. Two years and millions of dollars were wasted by members of the GOP who care nothing about those who lost their lives, their only purpose was a political ploy to discredit Ms. Clinton.
The NRA is committing the ultimate criminality during a presidential campaign by telling an egregious lie about the situation. I am offended that the NRA is allowed to influence our political system. It is nothing but an agent of gun manufacturers and gun sellers. It is a traitorous organization which should be damned by all true Americans.
Joe Heck is described as a Republican Representative from Nevada, in office since 2011. His only credential is that he graduated from the United States War College in 2006 and performed his duties as a military doctor. While in office, he is a member of the TEA Party, or Freedom Caucus, whatever they call themselves today. The advertisements offered in his behalf state that he ‘supported this, or supported that.’ The truth is, because he is a member of these extremist groups, he has no accomplishments for his years in office. He has taken an oath to the one-percent to do nothing with the exception of acting as an obstructionist for the advancement of the working class. Claims by his campaign staff that he supports the military has no significance. Heck has never seen a battlefield.
Heck’s Democratic opponent, Catherine Cortez Masto, was Nevada’s Attorney General, whose record is impeccable. She served for eight years and her accomplishments are many. She has the endorsement of every law enforcement agency in the state, and our Republican Governor, Brian Sandoval, has frequently praised her for her hard work and accomplishments for the citizens of Nevada.
Republicans at all levels cannot win elections based on their support of the issues most important to 320 million Americans. It is past the time when the American people cease their support of a failed party and vote for themselves and their family’s future.
A vote for Donald Trump is a vote for fascism and the acceptance of the fact that the United States of America is a failed experiment.
I once had enormous respect for the Republican Party, but I don’t know where it went. These un-Americans who claim to be Republicans today are members of the wealthy class who have no concern for the people of our nation.
Independents will win this election; and I am one of them.
