Ted Cruz Donald Trump ‘Bromance’ Renewed?

Donald and Ted

Early in the 2016 campaign season, a ‘bromance’ between Ted Cruz and Donald Trump began. Two men, hated by most Americans, found each other. As Trump’s wins in the primaries multiplied, and his poll numbers began to grow while Cruz’s declined, a ‘lover’s spat’ began and they started to bicker and name call. It appears that they have become reunited.

Although Cruz has yet to officially endorse a Trump candidacy, he has agreed to speak at the convention. While others, including the Bush family, Mitt Romney, John McCain, and fellow TEA Party darling Marco Rubio will not be attending, Cruz is beginning his 2020 campaign. Cruz is just another hypocrite attempting to advance his own ambitions.

The battle between Cruz and Trump was childish, and eventually included their wives. It was an embarrassment for the Republican Party and the nation. A new low was achieved when Trump posted an unflattering picture of Cruz’ wife, and Cruz responded by calling him a “serial philanderer,” a “pathological liar,” and “a narcissist at a level I don’t think this country has ever seen.”

All that appears to be ‘water under the bridge’ now after Trump met with Cruz and other Republican senators yesterday.

Will Cruz appearance before the convention have a uniting effect? Unlikely. Cruz remains an outcast by most Republicans. His obstructionism on the Senate floor has earned him the title of ‘most hated Congressman in Washington.’

Trump is desperate. To this point, only those who seek approval from the Republican Establishment have endorsed the failed businessman, including Paul Ryan, and Mitch McConnell. Although these “leaders” of the GOP once denounced him, they now support him, knowing that he is a danger to our nation and a destructive force within the party.

The convention in Cleveland begins in 10 days, and it will be “reality television” at its worst. Not even the “New Jersey Housewives” could have reached the level of anger and just plain ‘nastiness’ which will be openly displayed inside Quicken Loans Arena.

Outside the protests will never stop. Trump has earned the anger of many groups of Americans, and they will vent for the full five days.

This convention will likely confirm the end of the once Grand Old Party.
