Personally, I do not believe that Donald Trump will select either Chris Christie or Newt Gingrich as his vice-presidential candidate. Their use has expired. They have no value in the general election.
Neither man has the integrity or moral character to be the man one heartbeat away from living in the White House. Both have far too many similarities with Trump. They hare belligerent, egotistical, and seek office for their own advancement without interest in serving the American people.
Trump and Gingrich share a symbiotic relationship. Both have been married three times; their relationships have been controversial. They both know everything, and listen to no one else. Gingrich was removed from office for ethical violations and ordered to pay $300,000 for the expense of the investigation. Trump faces litigation in November for his alleged fraudulent “Trump University.”
Immediately after withdrawing from his presidential campaign, Chris Christie endorsed Trump. This will likely become the end of his political career. Just as the case with Gingrich, Christie brings nothing to the campaign. “Bridgegate” continues to follow him, and the people of New Jersey have varied opinions regarding his accomplishments and credibility.
Personally, if Trump is able to find a woman who will accept the vice-presidential nomination, she will be his choice. He cannot win if 70 percent of all American women find him an unfavorable candidate.
Gingrich and Christie have been tools for Trump. While lacking the support of respected Republicans, he was desperate for individuals with name recognition to stand beside him. Now that the convention is near, their usefulness no longer exists.
The media is not reporting facts important to the American people in this election year with the same fervor given to Trump disgusting campaign ‘style.’ It is a testament to the danger of a Donald Trump presidency when the last two Republican presidents; George H. W. Bush, and George W. Bush, along with Jeb Bush; refuse to support Trump or attend his convention. In addition, the last two Republican presidential candidates, John McCain and Mitt Romney, will not attend.
The convention begins one week from today in Cleveland. Very few true Republicans will be attending. Republican is defined as: “A person who supports or believes in representative government.” The problem is that very few who call themselves ‘Republicans’ today represent all of the American people. They represent special interests and personal advancement. If that were not true, they could not support Trump.
Many in the GOP became hypocrites and moved from denouncing Trump to supporting him for the sole purpose of desperately attempting to win an election. They have no concern for the future of our nation, or the Republican Party.
One of Trump’s interesting ‘attributes’ is his unpredictability. I may be wrong about Gingrich or Christie, but I continue to doubt that at the end of the convention on July 21st, either will be standing on the stage with the “Orange Man.”
We must not allow the “Orange Man” to become the new “Black Man.”
If you do not plan to watch the convention, I urge you to change your mind. I am not a fan of what the networks call “reality television,” but this will be an actual broadcast of un-scripted and unrehearsed events both inside and outside of Quicken Loans Arena.
Let the games begin!
