Ruth Bader Ginsburg may have been censured for her truthful statements about Donald Trump, but Bill Maher cannot. The host of “Real Time with Bill Maher” called out Bernie Sanders’ supporters, and sometimes the truth hurts.
The comedian was adamant about stopping the insanity of a Donald Trump presidency. He described the megalomaniac in no uncertain terms, revealing a belief we share that Trump would be disastrous. He would make the world a more dangerous place and destroy the credibility of our own nation regained by President Obama.
He rightfully states that electing Trump would be the biggest mistake ever made by our nation’s voters. Even if we disregard his lack of knowledge and experience, his views about America are not the views of a patriot.
Maher addressed disgruntled supporters of Bernie Sanders. Maher and I share enormous respect for the Senator, but we also know that not voting for Hillary Clinton and guaranteeing that Trump is not allowed to infest the White House is mandatory.
I saw one Bernie supporter say, “Convince me to vote without using Trump in a sentence.” Well, Trump is in the sentence, you fuckin’ baby! Convince you to vote? I don’t have to convince you to vote! It’s your life; I’m out of college. My college bills are paid off and Trump’s going to cut my taxes, so I’m not going to convince you to vote. This country is more in your future than mine, so two choices, pal. America: land of the free. Deal with it.”
The most important part of his rant is that this election is all about the future. A Trump presidency would completely destroy what is left of a once proud nation. Republicans have labored for the last eight years to ruin our country and a Trump win would complete their goals.
Voters prove their ignorance when the cast their ballots for a party, or from an emotional response. The issues are the reason we were given the right to vote. We should vote for the most qualified candidate whose views of how to positively lead our nation forward are closest to our own.
Trump has no values and no morals. Trump is running for Trump; he has no interest in serving the American people.
If you are a Bernie supporter, you must defeat Trump; he is a member of the one-percent. He will not be your president. He will insure that his cronies are well taken care of, while the majority continue to struggle.
