The Republican National Convention is less than a week away and atmosphere Cleveland is noticeably shifting.  Some of the 50,000 out-of-staters expected at the RNC are beginning to check into their hotel rooms and mentally prepare for the irrefutable, anticipated controversy involving Trump and the GOP.  Among these convention-goers are politicians, journalists, broadcasters, and veterans.  However, the most popular figures making their way to the Mistake by the Lake are undoubtedly celebrities.  Some names on the list include Trump supporters Tom Brady, Bobby Knight, and Don King.  Together with these celebs are seemingly endless lists of musicians, performers, and an array of entertainment not only at the RNC itself but for events held after each day in various spots around the city.  So the question arises: have political conventions lost their purpose?
