I understand that some people love to watch others less intelligent than themselves; it makes them feel superior. But let’s face it, some of these “reality” shows are just plain disgusting. ‘Duck Dynasty’ is one of those shows. It is nothing more than a venue for its star, Phil Robertson, to vent his homophobia and prove to the world that he hates my America.

In an election year like no other, when not a single issue has been discussed by the Republican standard bearer, and the Democratic candidate continues to be vilified in desperate attempts to keep her from becoming the president, Robertson has announced that he wants to be a member of Trump’s cabinet. Why not?

Robertson was originally an avid supporter of Ted Cruz. Just as many others on the right wing, he is an opportunist who now supports Trump. It’s easy today to be a Republican; just discard your principles and morals and find a way to advance your personal goals.

Now this is a laugh. Robertson wants to be Trump’s “spiritual advisor.” For those of you who are uninformed regarding “code words,” this is a term for an individual who supports racism and bigotry. In Robertson’s situation, he would use his influence to destroy the freedoms of the LGBT community. Just last week he blamed them for all of the mass shootings in our nation.

To be truthful, he is a perfect match for Trump. He should have chosen Robertson instead of Mike Pence as his running mate. But if Pence is closely examined, he is nothing more than a “cleaned up” and better spoken Robertson.

“I’ve requested, sent multiple people to him, and they all laughed when I said it, but the ultimate for America would be we convert Trump… I can see it now, Donald Trump and his cabinet, and there’s ol’ Newt or one of those guys that get in there, or Sessions, and the camera keeps paning over and they get to me and they say; ‘This man is his spiritual adviser.’” Phil Robertson.

Have the American people become so ignorant that they have lost their love of our country and have no concern for its future? We had a president who wasn’t very bright for eight long years. His rash decision to rush our nation into two unwinnable wars, and poor choice of fiscal policies nearly put our country into a depression. We cannot afford a totally inexperienced and uninformed ‘orange man’ to make decisions affecting the people of America and the world.

Robertson is a perfect example of a Trump supporter. They are misguided and have aligned themselves with a racist and bigoted man who is a danger to the Constitution.
