Once again Republican leadership is ignoring the issues important to our nation’s people. They have their own agenda. Two of its “most important” issues are the health crisis caused by internet pornography, and forbidding the rights of the LGBT community. In addition, it reemphasized its “war on women” by stressing its support of the Christian religious right’s anti-abortion efforts, and the defunding of Planned Parenthood.
Do we need more proof that the Republican Party hates the American people and supports special interests? The once Grand Old Party was dedicated to smaller government and individual rights. Today it advocates control of freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution, and the end of ‘freedom and justice for all.’
The Republican establishment has decided to support the lack of principles of Donald Trump. The GOP has allowed the demented ideas of Trump to influence its plan for America. It supports racism, bigotry, and the revocation of Constitutional rights.
The once great Republican Party, which fought for lesser government intervention in our personal lives, and the freedom for small business to compete with corporations, now opposes those ideals. Their ownership, including big business, the NRA, and the Christian religious right, seek the prevention of individual freedom and favors a government which allows racist control of our personal freedoms.
If you claim to be a devout Republican, you are in denial of the principles and ideals of a once great party. You now support an oligarchy, which will eventually lead to a plutocracy.
I am proud to be an Independent who denounces all political party affiliation. No institution or organization can be perfect. Without variables, free thought and intelligent decision is impossible. Allowing the worst or our nation, professional politicians, to control the way we vote and allow emotional warfare to control our thoughts, is un-American.
The intent of our founding fathers was that individual freedom, without prejudice, would be the cornerstone of the new nation. If politicians are allowed to create a cult; a cult where free thought is forbidden, our nation will cease to exist.
The intent of the men who declared independence from England, and authored the Constitution cannot be swept away by a few ambitious politicians. Today, when a self-proclaimed racist and opponent of the Constitution is the representative of one of our nation’s two major political parties has an opportunity to become the leader of the free world makes me fearful not only for the future of my country, but for the future of the world.
If the platform of the GOP is demonstrative of their standard bearer, Republicans cannot be considered viable candidates in November. Their plan is to destroy the very ideology of our nation.
The once great party of Lincoln fails to exist. The party of Ronald Reagan has moved so far to the right that he would be ashamed to be associated with the Republican party of today; in fact, he would be a Democrat.
All who claim to be Americans, and support the people of our nation, cannot profess support for the platform of the GOP which is in direct opposition to the meaning of our Constitution. All reference to the party of our predecessors is void.
