Megyn Kelly’s Silence Provokes Suspicion

Kelly

Multiple accusations of sexual harassment against FOX Noise’ President Roger Ailes have been defended by such commendable “scholars” as Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh. The one person everyone wants to hear from is the one woman at FOX even non-viewers know; Megyn Kelly. The longer she stays silent; the more suspicion she creates. What does she know, and will she join the others or defend Ailes?

Let me briefly add my opinion of Kelly before I continue with my query. Unlike the mainstream media, I could not defend her against Donald Trump’s vile comments after the first “debate” last August. She was obviously following a directive by Ailes and RNC Chairman Reince Priebus to discredit Trump by asking him personal questions and casting aside any pretense of an actual debate.

That said, we must ask why this FOX personality has failed to defend or condemn Ailes.

Is her silence revenge for Bill O’Reilly’s failure to defend Kelly when Trump launched into a tirade about her on his nightly show? Ailes refused to come to her defense and chastise FOX’s fading star. After listening to Kelly on several talk shows, I have no doubt that she could be vindictive; not that I could blame her. O’Reilly’s misogyny is not well hidden. He lost one lawsuit, but could there be more?

Could her silence be related to the fact that she is in contract negotiations? I am convinced that in most cases, “it’s always about the money.” Insiders say that she is demanding money equal to O’Reilly. On a network which is slowly but continuously declining in ratings, does she have the power? At one time, Kelly’s success was directly related to Ailes’ efforts; is her future intertwined with that of Ailes’ now?

Is Kelly fearful of challenging Ailes and his boss, Rupert Murdoch? Is she capitulating to the male dominated entertainment network in fear of losing her present position? Or is she biding her time and planning when to strike the fatal blow to Ailes’ fate? Her silence only creates more speculation.

This is where I get to offer my own opinion. I believe it’s a mixture of all of the above. Because of the fame she received after her altercation with Trump in the “debate,” Kelly has a level of power not previously in her possession. Whenever and whatever she eventually has to say about the situation will receive attention from a media which loves sensationalism. Kelly is likely to be more important than the judge presiding over litigation filed by Gretchen Carlson and others.

Kelly’s ability to save Ailes or crush him will certainly force the fake-news network into offering compensation related to Kelly’s demands. She can exact revenge against both O’Reilly and Ailes in a single act. But she could also cause the women with whom she worked damage to their claims against Ailes and FOX.

The good news for those of us who seek the truth is that FOX has been exposed. Ailes predicament, added to Sean Hannity’s openly biased actions favoring Donald Trump have proven once and for all that FOX is nothing but a propaganda machine owned by the Republican Party.
