Mitch McConnell Denounced by Conventioneers in Cleveland

McConnell

History will label Mitch McConnell as the worst Senate Majority Leader in the history of our nation. If he believed that his act of hypocrisy by denouncing Trump and then supporting him would be praised by conventioneers in Cleveland, he was sorely mistaken.

The boos came as failed RNC Chairman Reince Priebus attempted to institute McConnell as the temporary chair of the convention until the arrival of Paul Ryan. Priebus claimed that the crowd had voice more “ayes” than “nays,” and the crowd continued to boo loudly.

What was not confirmed is if supporters or detractors of Trump were more vociferous. McConnell has flip-flopped in regards to his support for Trump frequently.

In my opinion, McConnell has no interest in America; he is representative of a self-serving politician in the 21st century. He has led obstructionists in Congress for nearly eight years. McConnell was one of the architects of “Trumpenstein.” Supporters of the ‘orange man’ are protesting the inaction of Congress; why would they support one of its leaders?

McConnell commanded Republicans to do nothing as long as President Obama remains in office. His most recent decision to refuse to conduct hearings to fill the empty seat on the Supreme Court is unforgivable and even traitorous. Merrick Garland is one of the most qualified and moderate nominees in modern history, but McConnell once again became the reason our government is fractured. Without nine justices, the Court is virtually dysfunctional.

The first day of the GOP convention was interesting, and, as expected, failed to impress all but loyal Trump supporters.

Republican loyalists praised Melania Trump’s speech, only to have it ripped apart by those who remember Michelle Obama’s delivery of lines plagiarized by Trump’s wife.

I’m sorry, but it is hard to believe that the White House could be occupied by the ‘orange man’ and his ‘store bought wife.’

Back to McConnell. The truth is that he is a hypocrite and represents the reason why our nation’s government is shattered. Making it worse is the fact that he intentionally destroyed our democratic form of government.

I direct my anger at the people of Kentucky who have destroyed our nation’s government with their poor decision at the polls. It’s easy to blame a villain such as McConnell, but the truth is that those who elected him are the guilty party. Voting for a candidate because he has an “R” next to his or her name is just plain stupid; and “there’s no cure for stupid.”
