By his own words Marco Rubio informed the citizens of Florida that he ‘didn’t like being a Senator.’ That statement was obviously the truth if we look at his attendance record. It became obvious that he would use his tenure as a stepping stone to the Oval Office. However, it was more than that. He received a reputation as a poor campaigner, proven by his 20-point loss in his home state.
In stepped Republican leadership. Polls revealed that if Rubio did not run for reelection, the Democratic candidate would likely win, and the GOP would lose a seat in the Senate. An obedient Marco Rubio, who surely has his eye on the presidency in 2020 surrendered to the GOP powers and agreed to run for reelection.
Recently he was challenged by voters in Orlando. The murderous rampage by a heavily armed gunman at a gay nightclub, which resulted in 49 deaths of innocent Americans. They were protesting against the support of the NRA gun lobby, and the Republican Party’s refusal to protect the rights of law-abiding citizens who are living normal lives.
“One, two, three, four, we won’t take it anymore! Five six, seven, eight, Rubio, stop the hate!” shouted nearly two dozen protesters outside a furniture store where Senator Marco Rubio sat with staffers.
Rubio does not believe in preventing individuals from owning military-style weapons, although law enforcement and our soldiers claim that no civilian should be allowed to purchase these weapons of mass destruction.
“First Amendment protects their right to be here and I respect that very much and they make points that we should be listening to. I just honestly don’t believe that whatever they’re screaming for would prevent this attack from happening,” said Rubio. Really?
Rubio was also confronted about his opposition to the LGBT community which was obviously targeted in the attack. His response was along party lines as he admitted that he was a religious extremist and a homophobic.
“Quite frankly, I respect all people,” Rubio responded. “We have a disagreement probably on the definition of marriage.”
This man is no less prejudiced and hypocritical than Donald Trump or any of the millions of Republican voters who support him. This GOP of 2016 is openly racist, bigoted, misogynist, and homophobic.
Anyone who fails to recognize the Republican Party and its standard bearer Donald Trump for what they truly are is living in fantasyland. Only those with diminished mental capacity can justify their support of the GOP who has allowed the most disgusting candidate in history to become their party’s leader.
I’m not claiming that the Republican establishment’s favorite candidate, Marco Rubio, would have been a far better choice. Rubio lacks the intellect and work ethic to lead our nation. That said, Trump is the worst possible offering from any major party in our nation’s history.
A man or woman who fails to believe in America cannot be allowed to defecate on the White House. If Trump was not a political candidate, he would be denounced with others of his type such as Bernie Madoff, and Martin Shkreli. He is an opportunist who destroys ordinary men for the chance to make increased profits. This is the charlatan who seeks the presidency.
November’s election will decide the fate of our nation; it’s all up to you.
