Hillary Clinton is anticipating the nasty things Donald Trump will say about her next week during the Democratic Convention. This week is her chance to define Trump and his divided and un-American party. Her words were accurate and added to the wonderment and disgust that one of our nation’s two big parties could nominate such a “loser.”
She began by making us laugh at Trump’s entrance Monday night.
In an unconventional manner, Trump not only appeared on the first night, he entered the arena in the style of the ‘World Wrestling Federation.’ Fog billowed, as he appeared to reluctantly enter the hall, while “We are the Champions” played in the background.
This was Ms. Clinton’s description.
Hillary Clinton described the first day of the Republican National Convention as “surreal,” comparing Donald Trump’s dramatic entrance to “The Wizard of Oz.”
“Lots of sound and fury. Even a fog machine,” she said in a speech to union members in Las Vegas. “But when you pulled back the curtain, there was just Donald Trump, with nothing to offer the American people.”
She’s not incorrect; he has nothing to offer 320 million people with the exception of orange stains on the White House sheets.
Surprisingly she did not discuss Melania Trump’s plagiarized speech. However, she did talk about Trump’s failures in business, including four bankruptcies, and a failure to pay workers for jobs completed.
“Putting Donald Trump in charge of our economy would be devastating.”
My embarrassment for past Republicans who loved their party and the nation continues to grow. I feel nothing for these ‘Republicans in name only at the convention, who would actually allow a buffoon such as Trump to represent them. Former great members of the GOP must be “rolling over in their graves” as an entire party is openly admitting that they are racists.
The 2016 platform not only includes racism; it is filled with proposals which are bigoted, misogynistic, homophobic, and xenophobic. Is this your Republican Party? The answer, hopefully is ‘no;’ it is Donald Trump’s party, and sadly, it sucks.
I’m going to sound a bit like Bill Maher here, but I always speak the truth and tell you what I believe. The American people must cease their sanctimonious attitude. Every one of you has made mistakes honestly, and unfortunately some of you made those mistakes with the intent of hurting someone else. Ms. Clinton admitted her unintentional errors, but she made them while actually working for the American people.
Hillary Clinton has worked for us all of her adult life. Every single proposal she offers will aid the majority of Americans. And when national security is discussed, she has proven herself a diplomat, and understands international relations. Trump knows absolutely nothing with the exception that “he knows more than the generals.”
We must elect the most qualified and dedicated candidate in history. Get over the fact that her name is “Clinton.” Millions of you would not feel the same if the Republican candidate’s last name was “Bush.”
Hillary Clinton will choose a running mate who is not homophobic, or a religious extremist. Together, they will serve the American people; all of us.
