Hillary Clinton May Have Just Lost the Election

Kaine

Hillary Clinton has made a safe choice by selecting Timothy Kaine of Virginia as her running mate. In my opinion, her lack of courage may have guaranteed Donald Trump the presidency.

It’s not the fact that he would be unqualified to step into the Oval Office if necessary; Kaine is very qualified. It’s the fact that he is vanilla. Clinton desperately needed a spark. Instead, she chose a ‘smoldering candle,’ a man who will fail to inspire voters, and more importantly Bernie Sanders’ supporters.

I always promise to tell the truth, regardless of the political party. Clinton was afraid to select a strong running mate. She is afraid of competition, or opinions which may not mirror her own. She will continue to experience a lack of trust among the American people as she failed to have a strong man or woman attacking the falsehoods of the Republican Party. Once again she has made a poor decision which is similar to 2008. Hillary Clinton has likely given the White House to the worst candidate in history because she is afraid.

Tim Kaine is lesser known than Mike Pence. He has nothing in his resume which is inspirational for the American people. Although for clear thinking Americans, Pence’ support of anti-gay legislation, and his failure as the Governor of Indiana is unforgivable, Kaine is a complete unknown to most Democratic voters. Pence will have the support of evangelicals, and bigots who now compose a large percentage of our nation’s population.

Those of us who fear, and are attempting to prevent the worst possible President of the United States, have just received a blow from the woman we support. Clinton has once again underestimated her opponent and will be crushed by the devotion of his supporters. This is 2008 once again.

Clinton has surrendered to the attacks of the Republican Party which could not have defeated her on the issues. She desperately needed a powerful running mate, and instead selected a politician.

Hillary appears to have a death wish. She is obviously afraid to challenge Trump and the Republican Party. She has chosen her fate, and the fate of the nation.

Was she fearful of an all-female ticket? I believe so. For most of us who supported Bernie Sanders, we had hoped that her choice would have been Elizabeth Warren. Warren’s popularity is undeniable, but more importantly, she would have been a strong voice against the evils of Trump and his party.

On the positive side, Kaine is more than qualified to lead our nation, unlike Mike Pence. He was a mayor, a governor, and now a United States Senator. Like Hillary, his credentials are unquestionable.

My complaint is about Hillary’s lack of courage to inspire voter turnout in November. Maybe she’s too much of a ‘professional’ and doesn’t understand that supporters of the Democratic Party wanted a ‘bold statement’ from her; something to excite voters.

Trump’s success is solely related to the fact that he brought out the emotions of Republican voters. Admittedly, they are the wrong emotions, including racism, anger, and hatred, but his tactics have been successful.

Hillary has not brought excitement to her team; it’s more of the same, and that will not help her chances.

  1. I wonder if choosing Kaine for VP is an appeal to far-right Christian Republicans. He is known as the anti-abortion Democrat. And, of course, he’s soft on banking. It looks like Clinton has chosen to woo Republican voters instead of progressive voters. Your premise that Clinton may have lost the election is very valid, especially in a 4-way race where Stein and Johnson will take some significant number of votes from both Clinton and Trump.
