Being naïve is no excuse for ignorance. It’s time for Democrats and Independents to unite behind Hillary Clinton and stop the madness and evil which is Donald Trump.
I’m not making excuses for the DNC and Debbie Wasserman Shultz, or for any mistakes made by Ms. Clinton in her past. But the truth is that she has always supported the majority of Bernie Sanders proposals, and represents his supporters, as she has all members of the working class throughout her many years in public service.
This is not a year when voters will select the “lesser of two evils.” This is a year when the future of our nation is in the balance. Would you like to see a Trump presidency? Are you unaware of what that would mean for you and your family? You cannot be so ignorant that you fail to recognize the fact that Hillary will work for you.
How dare you boo Bernie Sanders when he asks you to give your support to Hillary? He was my candidate, and he is a great man. How can you believe that you know more than him? How can you not continue to support him? He has gained great respect in the Democratic Party, and they are including many of his ideas in their platform.
Signs created by Sanders’ supporters which say: “Hillary for Prison 2016” are simply an effort to support Donald Trump. She has done nothing illegal, but Donald Trump has. He has filed for bankruptcy six times to avoid paying his workers. He defrauded thousands of individuals with promises of financial success through his “Trump University.” Trump is guilty of sexual harassment, which will be revealed before the November election.
Republican groups are organizing to elect Hillary; why aren’t you. I was disappointed when Bernie did not acquire the needed delegates to win the nomination, but I know who the best candidate is; and it is not Trump.
Politics is a dirty business, and if you didn’t know that in advance of your support for Bernie, you are not a well-informed voter. But there is a truth which is being denied by Bernie loyalists. Hillary is the most qualified presidential candidate in American history; and she is a woman. Men have failed voters for 240 years; it’s time for change. She will not ignore you or your family; Trump will.
As a member of the one-percent, Trump will not be concerned with you and yours. More importantly, he will make the world a more dangerous place as he spreads hatred and plans for war and not peace.
Throw away your emotions and realize that this election is the most important in history. We can choose to elect a woman who will have a calm and intelligent response to world affairs, and domestic issues, or a man whose temperament would force him to make rash decisions. His vindictiveness would harm relationships with other nations and isolate our country from its allies.
Bernie will continue to be a force in our nation, and we must support him and trust his judgement. Continue to “feel the Bern,” but do not ignore his decision to support Hillary.
