Last Thursday Donald Trump spoke of a nation filled with gloom and doom. He spoke about hate and segregation between Americans.
Last night New Jersey Senator Cory Booker set the theme for the Democratic Convention. His speech will be long remembered by true Americans as he enthusiastically forecast a nation under the positive and constructive leadership of Hillary Clinton.
He was followed by Elizabeth Warren who dispelled the continual divisions within the party and portrayed the dangers of a nation led backwards by a Donald Trump presidency. She hailed the successes of Hillary Clinton throughout a long and prestigious career.
Michelle Obama was next, and rightfully praised the accomplishments of her husband during two terms as our nation’s president. She spoke of the Hillary Clinton she knew personally, and praised her for her service to the American people.
Finally, it was Bernie Sanders who asked his supporters to vote for Hillary and deny a Trump presidency. He reinforced the fact that he and Hillary share the same values; values which would positively affect the majority of the American people.
The media continues to support Donald Trump. They are not speaking about the uplifting speeches of Monday evening, which were in direct contrast to the “Hillary bashing” of the Republican convention. They continue to focus on a disappointing action by the DNC to support a Hillary candidacy.
Why is it that the media fails to talk about the positive results of a Hillary Clinton presidency, and the dangers of a Trump victory? They are a disgrace to their profession. Negative news sells advertising. Controversy reaches more viewers than positive ideas for our nation’s future. They have all followed FOX Noise in attempts to increase ratings.
The first night of the Democratic Convention was uplifting and offered hope for a better future for the American people. The media’s focus was on the division between Bernie Sanders’ supporters and the DNC. Sadly, the media favors Republicans who have no issues. The entire convention was about name-calling and offered fallacious attacks towards Hillary Clinton.
The media has become void of news and reality. All of them have become entertainment networks, and I refuse to allow them to influence my thoughts and actions. The ‘fourth estate’ chooses to fail its purpose. Gone are half-hour newscasts which offered factual information without discussion. The idea was to allow the viewer to make his own decisions; not to be told how and what to think.
As an Independent, I am ashamed of the direction my country is taking, and the media receives the majority of the blame. They decide what the American people see and hear each day, and we are gullible enough to accept it as truth.
America is all about personal freedom, but without accurate and inclusive information, the media removes our freedom of thought. The American people are being led to slaughter.
If Trump wins in November, he will have been elected because of the mainstream media. They have supported his candidacy from the beginning. Without their assistance, he would not have become the Republican nominee.
These are dangerous times my friends, but the only subject of importance in our nation is profit.
