When the 2016 election season began it was predictable. Ted Cruz, who had only been a Senator for two years, who had accomplished nothing with the exception of leading the effort to shut down our government, announced he candidacy for the GOP nomination. His only goal had been the presidency; no surprise to anyone. But to announce his intention in March was unheard of.
When failed businessman, Donald Trump, declared his candidacy America chuckled. No one expected a man who had no experience at any level of government to be serious about becoming the leader of the free world.
Eventually there were 16 passengers in the clown car, driven by Trump. And drive he did. In spite of efforts by Republican leadership, Trump became the nominee of the party of fear and hatred.
His followers cheered as he revealed his true self. His rhetoric proved that he was ignorant as he celebrated his beliefs in racism, bigotry, misogyny, and xenophobia. There was no need to talk about issues important to the people; his followers had no interest in the future of America.
Trump received endorsements from the dregs of the right wing. Chris Christie, Newt Gingrich, Sarah Palin, Ann Coulter, Rudy Giuliani, and Sean Hannity were proud to announce their devotion to the worst possible presidential hopeful in history.
Hannity gave proof that FOX Noise was a biased pretend-news network once and for all as he offered his allegiance to Trump. Regardless of Trump’s recklessness and obvious intent to destroy America, Hannity continues to support and praise his master.
When Russia hacked the e-mail accounts of the Democratic National Committee and exposed efforts to guarantee a Hillary Clinton candidacy, Trump celebrated. It was an obvious effort to damage Ms. Clinton. But he didn’t stop there.
Trump announced that he was encouraging Russia to hack into Ms. Clinton’s personal e-mails and search for classified information. This traitorous action intended to encourage espionage against the United States prevents him from becoming our president.
Once again, Hannity defended Trump.
“The media has got the whole thing wrong. They’re purposefully distorting this whole thing which is what they do, and I’ll get into more examples in a minute. How is it possible, for them to now at this point, if Donald Trump — if the argument is that Donald Trump just encouraged a foreign entity, an enemy state, but I thought the reset worked, to hack into Hillary Clinton’s email server and find the 33,000 emails that were about yoga, a wedding, a funeral, and conversations with Bill Clinton on email even though he doesn’t email. How is it even possible that he’s requesting that?”
Hannity claims that he is right, and everyone else is wrong.
Does anyone still wonder why FOX’ ratings are in decline? They offer lies and half-truths to old white men who need someone to tell them what to think. Millennials refuse to succumb to mind control, and search the internet for information. Even some ‘old farts’ such as myself are willing to seek the truth.
A Trump presidency would allow a fascist, a man who hates America, to lead our nation. As he predicted in his acceptance speech at the convention, gloom and doom would become our nation’s future.
Hannity will soon be exposed. His loyalty to Trump, and his former boss, Roger Ailes, will reveal his own sins. He is desperate, fully aware that soon FOX will no longer be a black mark on our nation, and he will be unemployed.
