Time to Divulge the Purpose of my Blog

I love writing, and I believe that truth is the only thing which matters in this world. Truth brings trust and respect, and together these are my religion. Growing up in the 50’s and 60’s I learned to love the half-hour news broadcasts on television every evening. Federal law mandated that the networks report the news daily, although it failed to provide any revenue.

When I went to a double feature at my local movie theater, I loved intermission as much as the movies. News from around the world from the past week was offered to us all. There were no satellites in those days; news was not ‘instant.’ We had to wait until film arrived at the networks, and it was edited to produce concise information for us all.

As the years passed, the news remained a proud agent for the American people; exposing scandal, corruption, and criminal actions by our government and the Pentagon. But it was experiencing subtle change. Some news persons were becoming celebrities.

Then in October of 1996 FOX Noise was born. Rupert Murdoch created the network with the idea of supporting the right wing of government in the United Kingdom and America. He hired Roger Ailes in the United States, whose sole purpose was to have the highest ratings in the industry. He selected questionable “journalists” who were willing to lie and exaggerate half-truths to brainwash a large group of Americans who already resisted progressive change such as LGBT rights, women’s rights, social programs, including healthcare and increases in the federal minimum wage to help low-income Americans prevent their families from becoming impoverished. It supported Christians and denied the first amendment rights of all other Americans.

As FOX’ ratings grew, legitimate news networks such as MSNBC, ABC, NBC, and CBS noticed. They changed the way they delivered their news. Sensationalism became the priority for one reason; it drew larger viewership, and increased advertising revenue.

Today, “news” produces the largest revenue in the television industry. Facts and information of value to all Americans has become a lack of concern for networks and personalities who make millions of dollars each year.

I once revered the “fourth estate,” and dreamed of being a part of what was the most respected profession in my nation. I have changed my mind through many years of watching it dissipate into an embarrassing pretense of its once greatness.

The entire purpose of my blog is to destroy the mainstream media. It has failed the American people for a single purpose; profit.

“America is not a country; it’s a business.” The former is a line from a movie, and depicts the truth of what our nation has become. Facts and the truth are inconsequential in the 21st century. Viewership is all that matters, and substance is of little or no importance.

If the media had not supported the outrageous and filthy rhetoric of Donald Trump for the past year, he would not have become the standard bearer of the Republican Party. If they would have displayed the courage to expose him for who he wasn’t, he would not be the GOP nominee. The media is the reason our nation and the world are in grievous danger.

If you believe that I am exaggerating, try to dispel your weak emotions, and listen to the truth.

Domestically, the few offerings of Trump have been proven to be dangerous to the American people and the nation. His tax plan would be a gift to the one-percent; increase poverty, and the national debt. He would deprive 20 million Americans of their healthcare. He wants to deport nearly 12 million undocumented workers who have value to our nation both fiscally and by performing a necessary workforce. He would allow Christians to control governmental decisions in direct opposition to the first amendment. Trump would place our nation into another unwinnable war, costing thousands of lives and trillions of dollars.

The media will not report the truth. They love Trump; he provides them with additional advertising income.

Events occurring today in the Middle East have a serious possibility of forcing the world into a third world war. Syria has been an area of contention between the United States and Russia for years. The destabilization of Iraq was caused by a foolhardy invasion of the sovereign nation in 2003. Now Turkey is experiencing the possibility of becoming a radical Islamic State under the dictatorship of President Erdogan. None of the media are discussing these dangers to our nation and the world.

I am desperately asking the American people to turn off your televisions and discover the truth. Read publications from other nations. You, your families, and the United States of America are in danger of extinction. If you continue to believe what you hear and see on the networks and cable, you are not only ignorant, you are being led to your own slaughter.

The only power the American people have is their vote. November is the most important month in the history of our nation since July of 1776.

If you cherish the Constitution and want to secure the future of your family and friends for the 21st century, leave your emotions at home when you go to the polls and elect qualified and devoted candidates who will represent you and your nation. If you fail to do the right thing, America will be but a memory.
