Donald Trump makes disreputable and ignorant comments each day of his life. He may have reached his ultimate slander of respectable and patriotic Americans, as he once more displayed his weak temperament.
Khizr Khan is the father of a war hero, who just happened to be a Muslim. Captain Humayun Khan died in 2004 as he ordered his soldiers to move back. Moments later, his life ended at the hand of a suicide bomber.
The elder Khan stood at the podium of the Democratic National Convention telling his story, with his wife proudly to his right. What upset the thin-skinned Trump was Mr. Khan’s claim that Trump has “sacrificed nothing” for his country. Later, the audience learned that Mrs. Khan was too emotional to speak.
“I think I’ve made a lot of sacrifices. I work very, very hard,” he told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos. “I’ve created thousands and thousands of jobs — tens of thousands of jobs, built great structures. I’ve had tremendous success. I think I’ve done a lot.”
Obviously the “orange man” failed English in school; he doesn’t understand the meaning of ‘sacrifice;’ “to give up something for something else considered more important.”
Making money is not a sacrifice. Donald Trump has never considered anyone else more important than himself. The truth is the opposite; he has often refused to pay workers who have helped to make him millions of dollars.
For me, Mr. Khan’s speech was the most impressive and emotional moment in the convention. The truth always creates images and feelings, and those impressions stay with an individual for a long time after the moment, itself, has passed.
“Have you ever been to Arlington cemetery?” Khan asked Trump during his speech. “Go look at the graces of brave patriots who died defending the United States of America. You will see all faiths, genders and ethnicities. You have sacrificed nothing.”
Mr. Khan offered to lend Trump his copy of the Constitution which he rightly claimed Trump has never read.
Trump further insulted Mr. Khan by claiming that he was not intelligent enough to write his own speech.
“Who wrote that? Did Hillary’s script writers write it?” he asked the ABC News host.
How low can Trump go? If there is a worse man in America, it can only be the leader of one of his support groups, the Ku Klux Klan. He is a man whose hatred has destroyed his intelligence. A man or woman who chooses not to accept criticism is both lying to him or herself, and claiming that only they have all of the answers. This is not American, and it’s not the way the human mind functions effectively.
I wrote an article earlier today, titled “WHY DOES DONALD TRUMP ACTUALLY WANT TO BE THE PRESIDENT?” In it I listed definitions of certain psychoses which fit Trump perfectly. Will the American people choose to elect a mentally challenged man to the presidency, whose every decision affects the future of our nation, 320 million people, and the world itself?
I am embarrassed by Donald Trump, and ashamed of the Republican Party for allowing him to become their standard bearer.
