“Several months ago, a foreign policy expert on the international level went to advise Donald Trump. And three times [Trump] asked about the use of nuclear weapons. Three times he asked at one point if we had them why can’t we use them,” Joe Scarborough said on his “Morning Joe” program.
I knew Trump was stupid; his rash and vile rhetoric has proven that fact, but this is beyond belief. He lives in an entirely different world than the rest of America.
Trump and I are the same age. I remember “duck and cover” drills. During ’13 days in October of 1962,’ when I was a sophomore in high school, I was sure that a nuclear bomb was going to fall on my head at any moment. Living in Los Angeles, we knew that our city would be a major target.
The threat of a nuclear war has followed me my entire life. Some relief came when President Ronald Reagan signed a treaty with Mikhail Gorbachev, limiting the range of nuclear weapons in 1987.
However, the United States government continued to speak of the dangers of a nuclear holocaust. Efforts have continued throughout my life to end the possibility of a war which could virtually end life on this planet.
But Trump is excited with the possibility that he may have control of our nation’s nuclear arsenal.
There is no cure for stupid. It is impossible to win the type of warfare fought around the world today. The United States did not win in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and we remain in Afghanistan. A nuclear war would not only destroy life; it would make the world uninhabitable for living things.
Throughout his campaign, Trump has promoted racism, bigotry, fear, hatred, and xenophobia. Even a suggestion that he would consider a force so powerful that not even scientists are sure of the long term results is idiocy. He is entirely unqualified to lead the free world.
Hillary Clinton understands that the ramifications of her decisions will affect not only the nation today, but for years to come. The difference between her and Trump is that she thinks; Trump only reacts.
We need a leader who is in control of her emotions and trusts her advisors. We cannot afford to have a man with a weak temperament who responds to any form of criticism with anger and vile rhetoric.
Michael Morell, former CIA Director, is just another military and security forces expert who reports that they cannot and would not vote for Trump. But that won’t stop Trump’s uninformed and brainwashed supporters from believing that he and they know more than anyone else. The truth doesn’t matter to them. They prefer to believe Trump’s lies and accusations instead of searching for and learning the facts.
Trump is not fit to iron Hillary’s pant suits; and he is most definitely not qualified to sit in the Oval Office making rash and dangerous decisions. He must never have the nuclear codes in his possession.
