Powerful Women from both Parties Will Secure a Clinton Victory

Let’s be completely truthful; men are arrogant about the power they believe they possess over women. Throughout history men have perceived women to be second class citizens and incapable of competing with them in the workplace. Not only has this been a huge mistake in the past, it continues today and will be the downfall of the Republican Party, and their standard bearer.

Donald Trump represents the men of the Republican Party. He is not only arrogant, but is also a racist, a bigot, and a misogynist. He is casting aside the importance of women voters in this upcoming election.

Although the fact that Hillary Clinton is a woman will most certainly inspire many women to go to the polls on November 8th, it’s way past time that a woman was sent to Washington to clean up the messes men have made. Some will vote for Hillary as a protest against Trump. Three powerful women stated this week that they would vote for Hillary, although they have long and impressive ties to the Republican Party.

Sally Bradshaw was one of Jeb Bush’s top advisors. She will be voting for Hillary. She told CNN that the Republican Party is “at a crossroads and have nominated a total narcissist — a misogynist — a bigot.”

Maria Comella was a long-time aide to Chris Christie. She endorsed Hillary, and echoed Bradshaw’s remarks adding that the GOP is “at a moment where silence isn’t an option.”

The most recognizable Republican woman to endorse Hillary is Meg Whitman. She is a billionaire, and the former chairwoman of Hewlett Packard, and eBay executive. Whitman was once a candidate for the governor of California. The significance of Whitman’s crossover brings with it a substantial donor base.

There are approximately 157 million men in the United States, and 162 women. In the midterm election of 2014, the percentage of men 18 and older who reported voting was 40.8. The percentage of women was 43.

Women in their late twenties are returning to their parent’s homes in large numbers to finish their education and obtain careers. They are choosing to either have children later in life or not at all. Having a husband is not a priority. More women are registered in our colleges and universities than men for the first time in history. Women are the fastest growing bloc of voters in America.

Men in Congress have refused to ensure that women receive equal treatment under the law in all areas. When in power, they will take it for themselves.

Although it is true that there are far fewer Republican women in Congress than men, the number of women in office who are Democrats is growing.

Throughout the history of the Senate only 17 Republican women have served. At present there are 14 female Democratic Senators.

In the House there are 62 Democratic female Representatives, but only 22 Republicans.

Not only should we elect Hillary in November because she is the best candidate, by far, it is also important for the women of our nation to know that male dominance in our society is on the decline.

For 240 years, men have failed the American people. Their eagerness to rush into war, while ignoring the necessity of funding social programs for families must end. The time is now.
