Most of the time in my life when I believed that things couldn’t get worse, I was wrong. But I’m not wrong about Donald Trump. Nothing and no one could be a worse presidential candidate than the “orange man.” Even a redneck homophobe, and religious extremist from Louisiana would be no worse.
Religious extremists are equally as dangerous to the United States as a self-serving billionaire who knows nothing about government, and little about anything else. Phil Robertson, the leader of the ‘Duck Dynasty Klan’ believes that our nation needs him to lead us out of sin.
“I can’t tell you how to vote. If they keep fooling around long enough, they’re going to force me to run. If you want to see a change in America, get me in there, dude, and there will be a big change then, if you all are ready for it.”
Robertson also said that the best candidate needs to be one that “won’t disarm us, spiritually speaking and physically speaking.”
One thing for certain; Trump brings out the worst in our nation. This “reality TV star” has blamed the LGBT community for every evil in America, except the evil that is Phil Robertson. Sadly, he is typical of a Trump supporter. Trump’s “fans” would become the leaders of our nation. Normal Americans, who believe in our nation and the Constitution, would be on the outside. The first amendment would be revoked, and one of the most dangerous religions in the world’s history, Christianity, would make the laws under which we all would suffer.
Robertson originally supported the most extreme senator in our nation, Ted Cruz. Earlier this month he spoke at the Republican Convention as a member of an “all-star lineup of impressive supporters.”
It is of no importance who the standard bearer of the Republican Party is today. It is shattered beyond repair, and has committed itself to the support of racism, bigotry, homophobia, xenophobia, and misogyny. Their presidential candidate is an open racist; their vice-presidential candidate is a proven homophobe. This is the best they can offer the voting public.
Those who support Trump hate America. The truth is that Trump is not a Republican. He lacks all the qualities of Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Reagan, or Bush 41. He is the culmination of all evils which now dominate those who claim to be Republicans.
Phil Robertson would be no worse than Trump, and no better. They have one thing in common; they were both on “reality” shows which were actually scripted and staged. They have another commonality; neither is qualified to run a lemonade stand.
