One of the positive results of a Donald Trump candidacy may be the elimination of Ted Cruz from our political environment. Since his election in 2012, he has been the leader of the TEA Party extremists, and the most hated senator in Washington. His entire career has been involved in obstructionism, and has failed to offer a single positive proposal for the betterment of the American people.
Cruz’ speech at the Republican Convention may have destroyed his political career. The Texas senatorial primary begins next year, and his seat is up for a challenge by not only Democrats in Texas, but from his own party.
Mike McCaul is a six-term Representative who chairs the House Homeland Security Committee. He is being courted by Republicans in Texas to challenge Cruz after he failed to endorse Donald Trump.
Let me be clear; I believe that Cruz may be a worse human being than Donald Trump. Trump has no experience and has exhibited a weak temperament and lack of intellect throughout his campaign. Cruz is intelligent, and is desperate to achieve his singular goal; residence in the White House. He is a religious extremist; for me that makes him one of the most dangerous people in America.
McCaul is supported by George Seay, a top fundraiser in Texas Republican politics. “Mike is very well-networked within the donor class,” Seay said. “He knows an awful lot of people.”
I can’t help it. I am very excited. Could Ted Cruz be removed from our government? He is one of the primary reasons why it remains in gridlock. He is more ambitious than Trump, Rand Paul, or Marco Rubio. He hates the America which has existed for 240 years. I must admit that I am ecstatic at the possibility of his political demise.
I am not ignoring the fact that Trump is the worst candidate in history, and his supporters are representative of why America will never be a ‘great nation.’ But to think that one of the most evil politicians ever elected by the ignorant people of Texas could be out of politics in 2018 is exhilarating.
When Republican leadership reached the lowest level possible, as it became apparent that Trump would secure the nomination, and reversed its position as it supported the man they hated more than any other Republican, I felt pity for my Republican friends. They had finally found the bottom; or as a friend of mine called it “the pits.”
Texas continues to challenge Alabama as the most racist, bigoted, homophobic, and misogynist state in the union. No true American could reside in either state. I would be pleased if they seceded from the union; our nation would be better without them.
If that became a reality, Cruz would no longer be a United States Senator. That alone would be a gift to the American people.
