Trump Suggests Racial Profiling and the Isolation of America

Trump II

Donald Trump made a speech yesterday. What he loves most. This event was supposed to be about terrorism and national security. It was, but it wasn’t original.

“My administration will aggressively pursue joint and coalition military operations to crush and destroy ISIS,” Trump said in a speech in Youngstown, Ohio, using an acronym for the Islamic State. “International cooperation to cut off their funding, expanded intelligence sharing and cyberwarfare to disrupt and disable their propaganda and recruiting . . . It’s got to be stopped.”

The former has been President Obama’s plan for years. Much like his wife,Melania, he is simply plagiarizing the other Obama.

What was different from President Obama’s efforts was the suggestion of re-instituting racial profiling.

“In the Cold War,” he said, “we had an ideological screening test. The time is overdue to develop a new screening test for the threats we face today. . . . I call it extreme, extreme vetting.”

This is simply ‘doubling-down’ on Trump’s suggestion that all Muslims be banned from entering the United States.

Most of what Trump proposed lacked specifics as usual. He has no real solutions for any of the challenges facing our nation in the 21st century. Trump is the past, and we should let him return; by himself.
