Donald Trump once criticized President Obama for using a teleprompter. For most of the last year, Trump has refused to use the tool, and “spoke from his gut,” which apparently inspired his like-minded supporters. It also cost him support from other Republicans. As his number of Republican loyalists started to dwindle, Trump began a more traditional manner of speaking and resorted to the use of a teleprompter, which forces him to stay on message. But will it cost him his base; those who enjoyed his vile and incoherent speech?
Trump won the nomination by revealing his racist and bigoted attitudes, and with vicious attacks against anyone who disagreed with him. His only weapon against Hillary Clinton is to attack her personally, and make up lies about her health and abilities. If he ceases to act in a consistent manner, will he lose his fellow racists and bigots?
Today Trump announced a major shakeup in his campaign staff. He now has his third campaign manager; promoted one of his current staff, and placed her above Paul Manafort. Insiders also report that he has added disgraced, former FOX Noise President, Roger Ailes, as an ‘adviser.’
Trump has now completed the list of America’s evils. Added to his own racism, bigotry, and xenophobia, Trump selected Mike Pence as his running mate. Pence is a religious extremist and a blatant homophobe. Now he has Ailes; a serial violator of sexual harassment laws; a devout misogynist.
If he fails to act on his team’s prejudices at his rallies, will he lose the admiration of his devout followers? Either way, he will continue to sink in the polls. It hasn’t mattered that the media has failed to expose his lack of qualifications to become our nation’s president; Trump has accomplished that for them.
As he was speaking at his latest rally, using a teleprompter, he was just another boring politician who offered empty promises; there was no substance and no vile rhetoric was uttered from the “orange man’s” mouth.
This Donald Trump is not interesting. He is a boring simpleton who appeals to no one.
