All Republicans have one thing in common; nothing is ever their fault; it is always somebody else’s responsibility. According to the right wing, President Obama’s Administration has been a complete failure. It was Republicans who took our nation out of the Great Recession, and they accomplished that incredible feat by doing nothing in Congress for eight years.
Most of the GOP refuses to accept the blame for “Trumpenstein,” although failed leadership actually created the monster. Some have actually come up with a conspiracy theory which would be the greatest fairytale of all time. They believe that Donald Trump is purposely losing the election; his goal is to hand the presidency to Hillary Clinton. Really?
The assumption is based on a single phone call between Bill Clinton and Donald Trump in May of 2015. Conspiracy theorists believe that because Hillary had already declared her candidacy, Bill Clinton encouraged Trump to enter the race.
In an October interview with Stephen Colbert, Mr. Clinton said that he was simply returning a call from Trump; they were golfing buddies back then. “I had a very pleasant conversation with him, and it wasn’t about running for office,” he said.
But this won’t stop those who believe that Trump is intentionally losing his chance to win the presidency. His rhetoric is vile, and he continues to demonstrate his lack of knowledge regarding issues both domestic and foreign.
Regardless of what some may assume, the truth is that it has been the strangest campaign season of all time. The Republican establishment was unable to find one candidate who could defeat the least qualified presidential candidate in history. Not a single issue has been addressed directly by Trump or any other Republican leader. When the convention arrived in July, not one respected or credible Republican attended. The last two Republican Presidents, and the last two presidential candidates were among those who boycotted Trump’s Convention. Several prominent Republicans have announced that they will vote for Hillary Clinton; some said they will campaign for her. Trump has support from a single demographic; white, middle class men and women.
However, for those who love a good conspiracy, this is a “doozie.” They believe that a man would spend millions of his own dollars to campaign for someone else. Why would he alienate more than one-half of our nation with racist, bigoted, and xenophobic remarks? Why would a man with such a huge ego allow himself to face ridicule?
What they don’t want to believe is that Republican voters are disgusted with their party; a party which became so extreme it did nothing for eight years. Trump is nothing more than the symbol of the anger of GOP loyalists. Sixteen other candidates entered the race; not one of them came close to defeating Trump.
This is one time Republicans do not have a choice. Their loss is the result of years of mistakes and a failure to represent the majority of Americans; Republican or Democrat.
