While the Republican Party continues its desperate attempts to discredit Hillary Clinton with multiple and costly investigations regarding the Benghazi tragedy, and the use of her personal e-mails, they can now cease wasting time, money, and attacking Ms. Clinton.
Republicans in Congress asked FBI Director James Comey to turn over all of the investigations reports about Hillary’s e-mails. In the reports, it was revealed that former Secretary of State during the Bush Administration, Colin Powell, advised her to use a private e-mail server with the exception of exchanging classified information.
An upcoming book by Joe Conason’s on Bill Clinton, “Man of the World: The Further Endeavors of Bill Clinton,” exposes even more.
In 2009, a dinner was attended by Henry Kissinger, Madelaine Albright, Colin Powell, Condoleezaa Rice, and Hillary Clinton. Conason wrote: “Toward the end of the evening, over dessert, Albright asked all of the former secretaries to offer one salient bit of counsel to the nation’s next top diplomat. Powell told her to use her own email, as he had done, except for classified communications, which he had sent and received via a State Department computer.”
Later, when Powell was asked to confirm the story, he replied: He had “no recollection” of the conversation described in Conason’s book, though he did provide her a memo regarding his own email use at the State Dept.
Powell Principal Assistant Peggy Cifrinio’s said in a statement that the former secretary of state did write Clinton an email memo describing his use of his personal AOL email account for unclassified messages.
Does this mean that “crooked Hillary” is not so crooked? Have Trump and his cronies once again been caught in a blatant lie? How could this happen? Trump just said today that he “would always tell the truth.” Why shouldn’t we believe him?
If only the media would make this their main story, as they do when Trump falsely attacks Hillary. They can no longer be considered as a source of the truth. The have given Trump more coverage than any other single candidate in history.
We must elect a president based on previous service to our country, and his or her qualifications for the position. Hillary Clinton is the most qualified candidate in our nation’s history. Her platform will benefit the majority of the American people, while Trump’s would benefit only the very wealthy.
If you read me regularly, you know that I originally supported Bernie Sanders. His position on the issues mirrored my own. However, Hillary’s ideas were similar, and I am now an avid supporter.
I will be proud to watch our first woman president be inaugurated on January 20, 2017.
