Is Donald Trump in Control of his own Campaign?

Conway

If Donald Trump had any chance of winning the presidency, it was a must that he change his vile and offensive rhetoric. Kellyanne Conway appears to have him on a short leash. Last week he twice spoke from a prepared speech, while using a teleprompter; two things he previously denounced. I must ask an honest question; who’s running his campaign?

Not only is he no fun any longer, Trump is back-peddling on issues which won him the nomination. The most egregious is his original message to his supporters that he will deport over 11 million undocumented workers. When Conway was asked if this was true, she said; “to be determined.”

What effect with his new campaign CEO, Stephen Bannon, have on his campaign? He is known as one of the most extreme right wing bloggers in the nation. He has been labeled a racist, bigot, misogynist, homophobe, and even a white supremacist. Is this the image Trump wants for his candidacy?

Today Trump appeared to be Trump once again. There was a discussion regarding the relationship between law enforcement and the American people with an emphasis on the black community. Trump joined other Republicans and FOX Noise as he took a position opposite to that of President Obama.

The Norman Rockwell painting which appeared on the cover of the “Saturday Evening Post” of a friendly policeman assisting a young girl is far from the image of law enforcement today. After the events in Ferguson, Missouri, which revealed police officers in full military uniform, and riding in military vehicles, President Obama signed an executive order banning the distribution of additional surplus military gear to law enforcement. Trump claims that he would rescind that order and once again allow law enforcement to immediately appear confrontational to ordinary citizens. The motto, “to protect and to serve” would no longer appear as standard policy.

While Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders both called for a complete revision of our antiquated and biased judicial system, Republicans claimed that there was no problem.

This is another example of how extreme the differences are between the candidates.

Trump continues to refuse to present his tax returns to the American people. Recent exposes indicate that the Republican candidate may be in serious debt; that his billionaire status is an illusion.

Is Trump fearful of a devastating defeat, and a revelation of his true self? Has he relinquished complete control of his campaign to the Republican establishment? Why has he added Bannon to oversee his campaign staff? Such an extremist cannot be a positive force.

Too many questions, and as usual no answers from the Trump organization.
