I never believe what the mainstream media tells me. It no longer cares about the truth; about facts. It’s only concern is ratings. FOX Noise has become the role model for a once respectable fourth estate. I do not watch television for the news; it is nothing more than a tool for entertainment. I read. I search for information from around the world, and for political information from multiple sources. Because of that fact, I fail to understand why Donald Trump remains in the presidential race. But then I read stories which are blatant lies claiming that Trump is, or will be finding new success in several states or among new demographics. Why? It’s always the same answer; follow the money.
The media desperately needs Trump. Hillary does not increase ratings; she is far too rational, talks about the issues, and isn’t constantly screaming. She’s presidential; not a circus clown.
Headlines such as: “Nevada becomes one of Trump’s big hopes for swing state win,” or “Trump: Hillary Wants ‘A Totally Open Border Where People Can Just Pour In And Take Your Jobs,’” may sell advertising, but distort the truth.
Trump is losing in Nevada by nearly three points. Southern Nevada has a large Hispanic population which supports Hillary. Northern Nevada is more diverse, and support is mixed. Even if the article was true, Nevada has only five electoral votes.
The second headline is a complete lie. Immigration reform is a must and Hillary understands how it must be created. No one is taking your jobs. Your jobs are being taken by businesses now in foreign lands; just like the 12 Donald Trump owns and operates. You won’t hear the truth from the media.
When Trump began to win the primaries the media recognized an opportunity for monetary gain. They covered his events five-times more frequently than those of any other candidate. He was given free publicity and they must share a portion of the blame for the success of “Trumpenstein.” When they have covered other candidates, they focus on the negativity, and not ideas or proposals which would cure our nation’s ills.
At this minute, none of them has totally exposed Trump’s new Campaign CEO, Steve Bannon, for what he really is; how extreme his views are about multiple issues. He has never hidden the fact that he is a white supremacist, and a supporter of ‘Alt-Right.’ His writings reveal that he is anti-Semitic, a racist, a bigot, a misogynist, and a homophobe. If this is who Trump associates with, he shares his beliefs; a man is “judged by the company he keeps.”
Why isn’t the media offering a service to the American people and telling them the truth? Simple answer; the truth offers no opportunity for increased revenue.
The only difference between FOX Noise and other media networks is that they don’t begin with a lie as does FOX. Their lies come from omission; from not revealing the whole truth, or by misdirecting their audience.
Millennials do not watch television for their news. We need to follow their lead.
