Donald Trump denies that he is a racist. I assume he never learned that words mean nothing; actions reveal everything about the character and beliefs of a man. For over a year he has proven that he is biased towards any man or woman who is not white. The final proof came last week when he hired white supremacist Stephen Bannon as his Campaign CEO.
Trump’s conversion to racism is not new. He was heavily influenced by his father, Fred C. Trump. It was well-known in the early 1960’s that the senior Trump was prejudiced. The New York Times recently carried a lengthy article documenting both father and son and their practices of refusing to rent their properties to blacks.
One instance in 1963 revealed the story of a 33-year-old nurse who filled out an application to rent an apartment in Queens. Her name was Maxine Brown. The rental agent, representing Fred Trump, called the application “beautiful.” Stanley Leibowitz told his boss, the senior Mr. Trump, about the woman and her excellent application. There was a single problem; she was black.
Leibowitz was instructed to “take the application and put it in a drawer and leave it there.” Donald was 17 at the time; ready to enter Fordham University.
Throughout the years of acquiring multiple rental properties, this practice remained the norm. As the years passed, and Donald became more involved in the business, numerous complaints were filed which threatened legal action. Rental agents for the Trump family claim that when blacks applied for a rental, a “C” was written at the top of the application for “colored.”
Trump’s rhetoric has proven that he hasn’t changed. That boy of 17 is now a man of 70, and he remains racist and bigoted. Family and friends claim that Donald Trump idolized his father, and Fred’s belief system became Donald’s.
The addition of Bannon has confirmed allegations by millions of Americans, and hundreds of political writers. Bannon is a member of the organization called “Alt-Right,” which is nothing more than “skinheads with money.” They claim that our government is engaging in a “white-cleansing” movement; an effort to allow minorities to take charge of America. I have news for them; time is already doing that. America is changing; it can’t be stopped; love it or leave it.
Reading Bannon’s articles, and articles he approved, while at Breitbart is an encyclopedia of what is the worst of our nation. The fact that one of Trump’s closest friends is Roger Ailes, and has now added Bannon to his team, is confirmation of who Trump really is.
It disgusts me to watch him beg for black and Hispanic votes. He is in dire straits regarding his efforts to win in November; he is simply pandering. He is completely out of touch with the average American, and even more so with minorities. It is impossible for a wealthy man who has never been involved in government or the day to day life of minorities to have any understanding of the difficulties of daily life.
It is his party, the Republican Party, which has constantly waged a war against blacks and women. He is that party’s standard bearer. We know who Donald J. Trump really is; and he’s not very pretty.
