Trump’s Desperation is Actually Embarrassing

Don

Donald Trump loves to brag about the size of his crowds. He revels in inciting emotional responses from his supporters. But after a year of listening to his vile rhetoric, voters are finding him tiresome.

Trump’s running mate, Mike Pence, experienced Trump’s dwindling support while making a speech in Virginia Saturday. Speaking at Patrick Henry College, a deeply religious evangelical school, Pence faced protests outside the hall, empty seats and silence inside.

Pence was chosen to make the speech because of his extreme religious views. He is a well-known homophobe and admits that he places his religion before his country. That was of no importance to the student body of Patrick Henry. Their disdain for Trump is stronger than Mike Pence’s beliefs.

“I don’t think that Mike Pence is a bad person, but I think he has made an alliance with someone who is completely unacceptable from a libertarian, conservative or progressive standpoint,” said Christian McGuire.

Trump has a serious problem with Catholics, Mormons, extreme religious groups, and of course Muslims. In more than a year he has failed to gain the support of a single demographic. Now he is flip-flopping on his core issue. He is attempting to pander to blacks and Hispanics without success. He has promoted Kellyanne Conway as his third Campaign Manager, and a self-proclaimed white supremacist as his Campaign CEO. To say that his campaign is in disarray is being kind.

Even Trump’s most ardent supporters must ask the question; “who is Donald Trump, and what does he stand for?” His ‘I believed it before I didn’t’ tactic is not working. He continues to drive real Republicans into Hillary’s camp.

Multiple attacks against Hillary over an eight-year period have had only limited success. Thanks to weak leadership, the worst presidential candidate in history became the standard bearer of the Republican Party, and made Hillary’s run far easier than it should have been.

“The emperor has no clothes;” Trump has been exposed for what he is and what he isn’t. He is pompous, braggadocio, racist, and bigoted. What he is not is qualified or intelligent.
