You must know two things about Iowa Senator Joni Ernst; she is ambitious, and has consistently led the Republican ‘war on women.’ As a Koch brothers favorite, she has become well-known in the GOP. Ernst was instrumental in a win for Ted Cruz in the Iowa Caucus. She strongly supported her fellow TEA Party member. That was in February; this is now.
She has joined other Republican hypocrites and now supports Donald Trump. She has no morals; no convictions. Ernst is nothing but another opportunist. At a Saturday rally for Trump in Iowa, during her annual barbecue event, the focus appeared to be more on Ernst than the Republican standard bearer. Tributes by others directed at Ernst dominated the event. One of her greatest supporters is Steve King, the congressman from Iowa best known as the biggest racist and bigot in the Republican Party.
Governor Terry Branstad offered praise for the junior Senator.
“She’s doing a great job for us… She’s taking D.C. by storm and she’s making them squeal,” said Branstad, the longest serving governor in U.S. history.
The truth is that she’s part of Mitch McConnell’s “do-nothing” senate, and has accomplished nothing but destruction in Washington.
Before the event, Ernst held a press conference. At the gathering she offered her opinion about the 2016 campaign season.
“There have been a lot of barbs thrown at each other,” Ernst told reporters in Iowa. “They need to take this into a civil discourse and we’re not seeing that right now. I don’t like it when campaigns go that in direction.”
A bit misleading. Trump is most definitely the villain here. From “crooked Hillary,” to spreading false rumors about her health, Trump is a name-caller and uses but a single tactic; attack. Hillary is simply telling the truth. Not even the most avid supporter can deny that Trump has an extremely weak temperament, and cannot be allowed to hold the nuclear trigger. Trump is a racist and a bigot, and has proven himself so with both words and actions throughout his life. Trump is unqualified to lead our nation and the free world. Trump has lied about his business practices and his success. No one truly knows what his position on immigration is today.
Ernst is a right wing extremist who refuses to work across the aisle. She has voted against every bill which would have benefitted women in our nation. Ernst is pro-life; anti-Planned Parenthood; against a raise in the minimum wage, which would positively affect single mothers; against an equal pay amendment; she even voted against the Violence Against Women Act. Ernst acts like an old, white, Republican man.
Ernst claims that she has no ambitions to run for the presidency in 2020; another blatant lie we’re used to hearing from Republicans who have but a single goal; the White House.
The truth is, if Ernst does support Trump today, she supports everything he stands for. You must accept the truth, even when your only purpose is to further your own ambitions.
Once again, Ernst proves that Republican is synonymous with Hypocrite.
