Hillary Clinton’s lead over Donald Trump allows her to expand her campaign. She is focused on Republicans who are anti-Trump, and has a strategy to lure them into her camp. No one who loves our country and cares about the American people wants to see Donald Trump living in the White House.
Hillary is courting Republican campaign donors. Loopholes in the campaign contribution laws allow donors to contribute more than the original intent. She is appealing to anti-Trump forces to support her in her bid to defeat him in November.
Jared Kushner, the publisher of Observer Media, is Donald Trump’s father-in-law, and has revealed the fact that Ms. Clinton is attempting to undermine Trump’s campaign.
But is this truly a bad thing? Isn’t it time to expose the real villains in 2016? The Republican Party has attempted to discredit Hillary for years; knowing that this is the only possible way she could be defeated. Spending millions of dollars in a foolish attempt to place the blame for the tragedy in Benghazi has failed miserably. Attacks regarding her use of personal e-mails are almost laughable. Now claiming that she gave “favors” to those who donated to the Clinton Foundation while Secretary of State are the greatest stretch of all. Have Republicans forgotten that George W. Bush invited Jack Abramoff to sleep in the Lincoln Bedroom of the White House? Abramoff was a former American lobbyist, businessman, movie producer and writer. He was at the center of an extensive corruption investigation that led to his conviction and to 21 additional people who were employed by or associated with him.
Republicans are quick to make allegations but have never assumed responsibility for their own corruption and immoral behavior.
Hillary has an unusual possibility. Trump’s racist and immoral history are fodder which may influence many Republicans to denounce their party’s standard bearer for this single election. Associating with Trump is political suicide. His closest allies, Christie, Gingrich, Giuliani, Coulter, and Palin will forever be denounced as not only anti-American, but also traitors to the party of Lincoln.
This tactic by Ms. Clinton has never been available before in any presidential campaign. For the first time in our nation’s history, influential members of one party are not only supporting the candidate of their opposition, but in some cases campaigning for her success.
When the election is over, the GOP must reorganize and eliminate from its rank and file those who supported Trump and radicalized the Republican Party. They must also reject the extremists who helped create “Trumpenstein;” the TEA Party or Freedom Caucus; whichever name they hide behind today. America needs two functioning parties who are willing to deliberate and compromise. Together they will defend our democracy and restore American values.
