Will the Koch Brothers or Catherine Cortez Masto Win in Nevada?

Heck

The race in Nevada to replace Harry Reid in the Senate is a perfect example of how dangerous uninformed voters can be; voting for a party without knowing anything about the candidate is foolish and can weaken our government. The choice is clear, but the Koch brothers have funded multiple fallacious smear ads against Catherine Cortez Masto, and in favor of Joe Heck.

The differences between them are enormous. Masto served two terms as our Attorney General, and was praised by Republican Governor Brian Sandoval. Her accomplishments have earned her the endorsement of every law enforcement agency in the state.

Heck served two terms in the House. He does not have a single accomplishment to his credit. He is a member of the “Freedom Caucus.” This extremist group promised to do nothing and nothing it did. The only effort recorded, is an attempt to shut down the government in an effort to end funding for Planned Parenthood, an agency which has assisted thousands of low-income and poor women in Nevada. His television ads attacking Masto are entirely fallacious and misleading.

Harry Reid is retiring, but is campaigning for Masto. “I am going to do everything I can do to prevail, to help her prevail,” a determined Mr. Reid said in an interview at his home in nearby Henderson, Nev., as he takes on a more visible role in the Senate fight.

Heck has focused his credibility on the fact that he was in the Army. He is a medical doctor, and never served on the front lines. He is another opportunist who has become wealthy by taking money from special interests including the Koch brothers who have but a single concern; unlimited oil production.

This is a time when we need serious people in Washington, not opportunists. Heck is exactly what Reid says he is; a “phony.” The TEA Party, or “Freedom Caucus,” is not serious. Their goal is to destroy our democratic republic, and they’re doing a good job of it. Heck is similar to Ted Cruz; the most destructive force in Washington.
