Donald Trump’s Pandering Will Not Work

Donald

At a previous Trump rally, he shouted out to the crowd: “Where’s my African American?” Today Trump is desperately making a plea to members of a black church in Detroit.

Pandering: “To please other people by doing or saying what you think they want you to do or say.”

This action by the proven racist is the pure definition of ‘pandering.’ He doesn’t have concern for blacks, Hispanics, the working class, the poor, or the homeless. Donald Trump cares about Donald Trump.

A crowd of angry protestors formed outside of the church, and voiced the truth.

“[Trump] didn’t come to hear us, he came to talk to one of us to tell us what he thinks we ought to do,” Pastor Lawrence Glass, one of the organizers of the protest, told Al Jazeera.

“We are protesting against someone who has proven to have a legacy of bigotry and bullying… people of color and people of faith are not standing for Trump and his antics of racial bias.”

Does Trump truly believe that a reputation he has earned over the last year will disappear in a few days? If he does, he has less intelligence than I previously believed.

History is also against Trump. For years the Republican Party has rejected the black community. More recently it has refused to agree to an increase in the federal minimum wage which would aid tens-of-thousands of black women who are single mothers. The GOP has attempted to defund Planned Parenthood, the only affordable medical care available to millions of low-income and impoverished black women. Several “red states” have passed voter ID laws directed at black voters. Does Trump believe that he can mend the “bad blood” between Republicans and the black community by attending a single church service? His egomania is showing.
