Donald Trump’s running mate, Indiana Governor Mike Pence, was the first governor in America to sign an ‘anti-gay’ law. He admits that he is an Evangelist first and an American second. Although he claimed that it was to protect the rights of Christians, which is against the first amendment in itself, it was obviously aimed at the LGBT community, and their rights to same-sex marriage.
The law is another Republican misnomer; the “Religious Freedom Restoration Act” in fact removes freedom from the homosexual community, including those who might be Christians themselves.
One of Pence’ supporters, herself an evangelical Christian, beat her seven-year-old child mercilessly with a coat hanger. Kin Park Thaing’s defense in a court of law was Mike Pence’ law.
The boy’s injuries were discovered by a teacher. The teacher had gently patted the boy on the back and he winced. After noticing welts, he was sent to a local hospital. 36 welts and bruises were discovered on his back and arms, as well as one curved welt on his buttock; apparently from the hook on the hanger. Many legal experts believe that the charges will be dropped thanks to Pence’ law.
Thaing used a quote from the bible as her defense.
Proverbs 23:13: “Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you strike him with a rod, he will not die. If you strike him with the rod, you will save his soul from Sheol.”
“Thaing is likely to win,” wrote Jay Michaelson of The Daily Beast. He argues that “while protecting child welfare is a compelling state interest, Indiana’s law has no exemption to accommodate religious believers.”
Religion has no place in our politics, and for 65 million others, such as myself, it has no place in my life. If this is what Christians truly believe, I am very proud not to be a member of that cult.
We all know the evil which is Donald Trump, and now the American people must know his running mate and his campaign staff. This is the group who seeks control over my America; an America they despise. Trump’s entire entourage is racist, bigoted, homophobic, xenophobic, and misogynist. Is this what anyone wants to lead our nation? Does the Constitution have value to anyone? It certainly doesn’t matter to Trump and his cronies.
Religions are dangerous. The two largest, Christianity and Islam, have the most violent histories of any organizations in the history of the world. If a mother can viciously molest her son with a metal object, and not be punished because of religious prejudice, this is not a nation I can be support. I will fight for my country, not the country of Donald Trump and his Republican hypocrites.
If you are a Trump supporter, you support fascism and reject every principle our founding fathers intended.
The biggest joke in America is Donald Trump’s silly red hat which erroneously says: “Make America Great Again.” He would return us to the bad old days when he and his father refused to rent apartments to blacks. Trump believes that time period was when America was a great nation. Really.
That’s another story.
