Is anyone dumb enough to believe that Donald Trump’s appearance in a black church in Detroit yesterday was sincere? One opportunistic venture by a proven racist cannot alter the facts revealed during the last year. The only difference today is that he is now reading from prepared scripts; the words coming out of his mouth are not his own. We all know what he really believes, and who he really is.
Does any of this sound like the real Donald Trump; the man who is completely out of touch with the working class and minorities?
“We talk past each other and not to each other. And those who seek office do not do enough to step into the community and learn what’s going on. I’m here today to learn, so that we can together remedy injustice in any form, and so that we can also remedy economics so that the African-American community can benefit economically through jobs and income and so many other different ways.”
“I believe we need a civil rights agenda for our time,” said Trump, before he concluded by citing 1 John 4:12.
“No one has ever seen God, but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us,” Trump said, adding, “That’s so true.”
Trump has only a single God: money. He has taken advantage of people just like those he was speaking to, to increase his personal wealth. Most of the congregation was not fooled, nor were the more than 200 protestors outside of the church.
Taurus Simpson, a pastor from Saginaw, Michigan, “Perception is everything. What we had seen is that he had no care about the blacks at the beginning of this,” he said, referring to Trump’s campaign.
Sonia Green, 53, said she did see a more ‘human’ side of Trump. But she suggested caution. As far as whether Trump will make inroads with minority voters, however, Green said the “proof will be in the pudding.”
“We’ll see about what he says, the actions that he takes,” Green said. “Not just for people of color, but all people.”
The bottom line is ‘what has Trump ever done for anyone other than himself. He has never made a sacrifice for our nation or its people; he has never performed a single act which was selfless.
Trump is desperate. He has failed to attract the support of a single demographic other than white, Christian men and women.
We know him; and its’ not pretty. From college age Trump revealed his disdain for the black community. In consort with his father, he refused to rent apartments to blacks. Their applications were marked with a “C” on the top for ‘colored;’ and they were denied residence at Trump properties.
Sadly, the American people are often fooled easily. The truth is revealed by simply looking at the top three members of his staff. His CEO is Steve Bannon, a self-avowed white supremacist, His campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, is a long-time Republican who is the ultimate spin doctor who refuses to tell the truth. His deputy campaign manager, David Bossie, was hired for a single purpose; to operate a smear campaign against Hillary Clinton, much the same as he did in 1992 against Bill Clinton.
Dump Trump.
