Mitch McConnell Asks for Prayers because He Has Failed the American People

McConnell

The worst senator in American history remains in denial. Mitch McConnell is one of the primary reasons for the existence of Donald Trump. In addition, his promise of doing nothing for the last eight years has created a distinct possibility that Republicans will lose control of the senate in November.

The “turtle” is worried about the possibility. He is asking the Republican voters of Kentucky to pray that this does not happen. We wouldn’t want anything to get done in the senate, would we? He definitely does not want to hold hearings for the vacant seat in the Supreme Court, or hold confirmation hearings for the dozens of other federal judges nominated by the President. That would be doing something, and he promised to do nothing.

Worse yet, if Democrats do gain control of the senate, he would no longer be the Majority Leader; he would lose his power to do nothing.

Because Republicans caused gridlock by their refusal to accomplish anything of substance in eight years, voters are angry. McConnell believed that the electorate was ignorant and wasn’t aware of their failures.

After the midterms in 2014, McConnell went in front of the television cameras along with former Speaker of the House, John Boehner, and promised that now that they had control of both houses of congress, they would get ‘back to business;’ it was a blatant lie. Boehner was eventually forced to resign.

Democrats must retake control of the House. Senators such as McConnell, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and Rand Paul have accomplished nothing in their terms. If Hillary Clinton wins the presidency, she will need one house of congress to help her pass much needed legislation; legislation Republicans have failed to address for eight years.

The Republican controlled congress attempted to destroy rather than create. The House voted more than 50 times to repeal the Affordable Care Act; they have excellent healthcare, but they don’t want the American people to have the same right. They attempted to defund Planned Parenthood, which has saved the lives of thousands of low-income and impoverished women. Republicans oppose equal protection under the law for the LGBT community. Governors in several ‘red states’ have attempted to pass legislation which would allow only wealthy women to have an abortion.

Although the citizens of Kentucky gave us the burden which is Mitch McConnell, we can remove him from power.

If you pray; pray that Democrats retake the senate. That would be good for America’s future.

Please repost and help us get rid of the dead wood in Washington. Thank you.
