It’s no surprise that Ted Cruz is denouncing Colin Kaepernick and other NFL players who are protesting the treatment of Black Americans by rogue law enforcement. Cruz has never acknowledged that black Americans are treated more harshly than whites, or that the legal system is slanted towards the wealthy and powerful.
Cruz, in a recent tweet. “Here’s a peaceful protest: never buy another shoe, shirt, or jersey of rich spoiled athletes who dishonor our flag.”
Before Colin Kaepernick refused to stand for the National Anthem, his jersey was 20th in sales for the San Francisco 49ers. His is now the number one selling jersey in all of football. So sorry Ted, he obviously has far more support than you.
Our nation has many problems; many of which the mainstream media has decided to ignore. The advent of a racist as the standard bearer of the Republican Party should have increased awareness, but the lack of honesty and courage by the fourth estate has proven that profit before people is the new normal. The entire Republican Party has admitted that it is racist, bigoted, homophobic, misogynist, and xenophobic, and the media ignores the truth. If Trump is the party’s leader, he exemplifies what the party supports. The truth will never be told on any major television network. Trump and his staff, along with millions of his supporters are white supremacists. This is the only reason for his popularity. NFL quarterback, Colin Kaepernick is one of the few Americans to stand up to the media and the GOP to expose the truth.
Our nation is far from great, and under a Trump presidency it would fall into a state never imagined by our nation’s forefathers. We would become a nation divided by anti-Americans and those who continue to believe in the Constitution and the dreams of our founding fathers.
I hear it every day on television, and I witness media such as FOX Noise and the radio broadcasts of Rush Limbaugh and Laura Ingraham. Many of our people who hate the America of our founding fathers seek the destruction of their basic principles. Hatred has replaced understanding and compassion. Human rights are less of a concern than at any time in my existence.
White supremacists are experiencing a resurgence in our nation. Trump’s campaign CEO is a leader of a new affluent group which calls themselves “Alt-Right.” His writings while at Breitbart prove that he is racist and homophobic.
One more thing, Teddy; protesting peacefully is the most patriotic action an American can perform. I have listened to many of our military. They are proud to have fought for our freedom, and that includes the right to address grievances as stated in the first amendment of the Bill of Rights.
Cruz claims to be a “Constitutional Lawyer.” Listening to him, I doubt that he has ever read our nation’s most cherished document. He is one of thousands of religious extremists who seek the establishment of Christianity as our national religion, which would be another egregious violation of the first amendment rights of millions of Americans, such as myself, who reject organized religion.
Let’s get real here. The truth is that Kaepernick has forced a dialogue about a need for complete judicial reform in our nation. This was his intent, and he has succeeded.
As one sports broadcaster said; ‘it’s not about what Kaepernick will do next, it’s why haven’t all professional athletes stood, or kneeled in support of the black community?’
